Jay's Manx made VTR - SOLD

Right has my car nearly a year now, got it on my 18th, but i paid for it!

this is how it looked when i got it, completely standard.

then i gave it a half decent clean and t-cutted the rear badges

after that it stayed like this for a few months then i decided i didnt want rear seats...

so at first i completely stripped it

then this seemed a bit scruffy for me so i put in a half decent false floor!

Jay_ 30th December 2009 12:45

my next move was to tidy it up and paint the calipers red...haven't got any snaps of that though!

Next up was a meshed grill! i wasn't to sure about it when i started but finished product looked good...

the mesh is now black as i didnt like the shineyness of it!

then off i went to uni in september so progress stopped....

came back end of this month and just had to tidy it up again...

so rocker cover went red

then i decided the heat shield needed to black but again...no snaps of that bit...

a few snow pics cos i know everyone loves them...didnt get much here...

then i did what i class as my first major mod to the car....got the rattle cans out and did the whole widemouth sprayed up look!

i just need to colour code the rest of the splitter and that will be finished!

and my last little thing i did was my white R wheels!
before

during...

after

finished

my next plans are to get 106 ABC pillar trims, maybe smoke my rear lights??

then yes....lowered as you will all say!! haha!!

comments and critisism welcome!!

vahcaton 30th December 2009 13:47

progress is going well, will look perfect when lowered.
I think some angels would suite this car perfect as well, if you got spare cash.

Dave-B 30th December 2009 13:56

Really nice car, wheels turned out well not sure about the mesh tho IMO

fair enough! each to their own! :y:

Fair play on taking the critism well, I'm not trying to be harsh or anything.

I've had lots of critism myself on some choice of mods and some work.

The first picture in your progress thread looks awesome, a nice tidy example.

With the spraying you need to be more careful with over spray (grill and tyres mainly). Also the line on the front bumper isn't smooth with the blue. Would be worth the extra dollar to pay someone to do it professionally.

Jay_ 31st December 2009 01:32

yer i have baaaaaaaaaad over spray on my tyres but will get that off hopefully tomorrow, and the picture of the splitter is before i got all the masking tape glue off so it looks worse than it is.....but i will be colour coding the rest of it very soon so can fix it up! and i like having peoples points of view!!! i know not everyone will like it!

jgilbert 31st December 2009 03:24

like it bud. great job so far. you should spray the grille darker so it doesn't stand out so much???

mendy 31st December 2009 09:13

looking good mate makes me think about spraying my wheels too

Looks good, I'm doing mine white too soon, however, in this picture, round the valve it looks cracked and raised? (I know it's blurred as well), but like, can see the thick paint just stopping :p.

Grill looks better black too, although, I preferred standard.
