Black Mouldings on VTS Bodykit
How do people get them so black.
As mine are very faded with age like most I suppose. Anyone on here paint them gloss or matt black? Or are you just cleaning and dressing them temporarily all the time? I also saw someone using a hot gun and peanut butter does this actually work? Any help much appreciated? |
Search for the how to guide in the styling section mate. The peanut butter trick won't last long.Yes you can spray them black,Bedford126 is the man to ask about bodywork.

your best bet for a proper lasting job is get a bodyshop to do them, satin would look best IMO and I don't think they'd charge too much just for the bump strips

if you can be bothered reapplying say every 2 or 3 weeks (longer if you don't wash it too much) then meguirs tyre gel works very well. Nice deep black and lasts better than most back 2 black type products (which don't tend to work very well anyway).
With the right preparation (proper degreasing) Gtechniq C4 works well for a semi permanent solution, though it costs a fair bit. |
I use autoglym bumper gel to keep my bumpers glossy black..

any oil works, rub it in with a cloth and use another cloth to remove excess. it's only the oil in the expensive products that make them look black. baby oil, old engine oil etc etc.
