**Tutorials Here**
i have decided to make some tutorials to help people learn how to use photoshop and to do thier own cars on it
Program i used was :Adobe Photoshop 7.0
first tutorial is
Lowering
start by opening the picture you want to work on
firstly right click on the tool shown below and select polygonal lasso tool.
select round the car as shown below and then click copy (Ctrl C) and then click paste (Ctrl V)
then click and hold Ctrl key and use the up and down arrow keys to choose your ride hieght
thats basically it for lowering
Wheel Change
select the polygonal lasso tool as shown below, and carefully go round the outside of the wheels and tyre
once selected go to the move tool shown below and drag the wheel from this picture onto the picture you want it on
resize the image to the correct size and put it in position, then you may need to rub out some parts which overlap the wheel arch like below, select the eraser tool and just neaten it up
once neatened up it should look similar to this
if the colour is too light or too dark then go to the brightness and contrast settings as shown below and adjust them.
then do the same for the front wheel too
Smoothing and Removing
simple things like de-locking and removing side badges and rear badges can be achieved using the smudge tool, it wont always work depending on lighting in the picture
right click the tool shown below and select smudge tool
the you use it a bit like the eraser tool and smudge selected parts out
here i have smudged out the door locks and the VTR side badges
you use the same method to debadge aswell
thats basically it for that
Colour Coding
firstly select the polygonal lasso tool
and select round the first bump strip as shown below
once its selected click (Ctrl+C) copy and then (Ctrl+V) paste it
once pasted go to image>adjustments>desaturate as shown below
then go to image>adjustments>brightness&contrast
and brighten it up a little and it should look like this
then you can choose the colour by going to
image> adjustemnts> hue&saturation shown below
mix with the setting and try and get the best colour match you can
it shouldnt be too difficult to get a similar colour match
once youve done that you can do the rest of the bump strips in the exact same way
Job Done!
Tinting Windows
once again use the polygonal lasso tool shown below
select round the outside of the window, once selected this time go to layer> new> layer as shown below and when the little box pops up click ok
once you have done that the area will still be selected and go to the paint bucket on the left tool bar
select colour black and click inside the selected window
this is what it shud now look like
now go to the layers box on the right hand side and as shown below where my cursor is the box called opacity, click the arrow and change the opacity down, i moved it down to about 20% but adjust it to how much tint you want
do the same for the rest of the windows
an alternate way, you can also just select the window and go to image> adjustments> brightness&contrast and just tone the brightness down a bit, but i found this method gave better results
Copying other Parts
simple things like new lights and exhausts etc can be done by using the same method as the wheel changing
polygonal lasso tool around the part you want
use the move tool and drag it onto your picture
resize it etc and position it corretcly
it is better to find a donor pic of the part you want from the same angle as the picture you are working on as it is easier to make it look realistic and fit in, use this step for any copying and pasting of body parts or wheels etc
and lastly
Colour Change
use the polygonal lasso tool again
and this time select round the whole of the outside of the car as shown below
once you have done this it should look like this
now you need to de-select anything you do not want to colour, like the lights, windows etc
to do this hold down ALT and begin selecting round windows etc with the polygonal lasso tool
doing this whilst holding the ALT key will deselect them
it should now look like this
once done click copy (CTRL+C) and then paste (CTRL+V)
now go to image> adjustments> hue/saturation and begin mixing with the colours to get a nice colour
you can use other things from the menu like brightness and contrast and variation to enhance the colours etc
Remember to do the mirror or mirror caps too
heres couple of examples
other colour can be made like 2 tone/ pearlescent colour by going to image> adjustments> colour balance
then mix with those setting to create different colours
all these tutorials put together creates this
Wallpapers
you could also use photoshop to create wallpapers of existing pictures using the filter options etc
heres a quick example of a pic of saxo180 car (cheers for letting me use pic :y:)
base image
wallpaper
these are just a few of the simple things you can do with photoshop
ill keep this updated and will be adding more things to it when i get the time
but these are the main things people ask others to do for them in this section so why not give it a go
Next updates will be
carbon fibre (the proper way)
meshing
wheel colour change
wide mouthing
and more....
hope these help :y:
