4-2-1 racing manifold & boost valve

Want to add these to my Saxo VTR phase 2, 2001, 1.6i. Are these the right products?

I can understand the manifold but why the fuel pressure reg? Will literally do nothing but cause problems and take time to fit

Good advice, i know nothing about them. The manifold more as i need a new one anyway. So that 4-2-1 is a racing manifold then?

Define "racing" ?

It's a manifold built for better performance over standard, that's all. As previously stated fuel pressure reg is pointless unless you've done serious engine work.

What are you looking to achieve? Is the rest of your exhaust / air intake system standard?

welshpug 17th June 2019 19:03

you never ever need that pressure reg, only bin worthy.

I've had my VTR remapped, air induction kit fitted and a sports exhaust full kit fitted. My current manifold needs changing anyway as it's fucked-as it's stock from new/been on there for years. A 4-2-1 is a perfect add on now right?

Would of been best to add the manifold before the map, but yeah, a good addition :y:

Thanks for the information. As I didn't add it before the map, will it make much difference?

Will be louder that's for sure. Not sure if your cat is in the manifold, if it is should be more of a power gain too, don't expect anything amazing, extra couple of bhp.

Which one would you recommend getting? Or don't it matter...

longer primaries and secondaries are better, so I would go for the second however its not designed for the phase2 oil filter setup so you'll need to change to the earlier metal cartridge type instead of the paper element.

the first one appears to be made as a direct fit and wiggles towards the right to miss the filter housing, but has mega short primaries.

You got a link for one to fit a phase 2 vtr which does the job as we agreed?

Which you would recommend.

Just to bump this thread. What 4-2-1 manifold would people recommend for a phase 2, 2001 Saxo VTR which has been remapped, air induction kit fitted and a sports exhaust full kit fitted?

Both the ones you have listed are fusion welded and made from some high quality Chinese steel. I personally would go for the second one, if you want it to last I would get it re welded with back purge and a 304 stainless filler rod, vibrations will crack the fusion welds on these.
