Difference between ABS & non ABS axles

Replacing my rear axle, the car has ABS and the current setup at the back has no abs. Going to be getting an ABS axle but I’d like to know the specific difference between the two if anyone knows? Also when swapping the brakes and hubs etc will I require new hubs designed for abs vehicles?

Thanks in advance!

There is no different

Both types have holes to accept ABS sensors.

Hubs will come with ABS rings regardless, they fit both types - same idea as front driveshafts.

its basically just the wheel bearing that has an ABS ring on it then you need to plug in the sensor to the bracket which holds the rear caliper on, if you're using a bracket thats previously not had ABS sensors fitted though you may have an issue with the threads being rusted up for the sensor retaining bolt

Cheers for the info guys. Essentially I’m ordering a recon axle and swapping my brakes and hubs over and wanted to make sure if I purchase a couple of sensors I’ll be able to get my abs up and running again without having to buy anything extra.

Am I right in thinking that a 106 disc axle will also be prepped for abs sensors?
