3 Ohm Speakers on a 4-8 Ohms Head Unit1??

Hi guys,

So, I have ordered a set of speakers for the car, just some direct swaps for the default door speakers in my 5 door saxo.

I have ordered a Head Unit which says 4-8ohms output. Which I assume to be the standard. However, the problem comes with the set of 4inch rear door speakers I have ordered which are 3ohm. Now, I understand it will create more heat than usual, but I just want to know if anyone has done this? If so, have you seen any real effects from it?

The front speakers are 4ohm. But just forgot to check when I ordered the rears like an idiot.

I wont be playing anything overly loud. I just wanted a new system that had better quality rather than loudness without the need to get a separate amp.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Since done some digging. Apparently Infinity consider 3ohm to give 'true 4ohm experience'. ie... 3ohm speaker plus the 1ohm in the cabling.

So it should all be ok......... hopefully.

yeah, infinity is good stuff so you'll be ok
