Cambelt tension

Changing my cambelt at the weekend, how tight should the belt be once it’s on? Cheers

I was always tought, that a good rule is that you should be able to twist the belt a 90 degrees

Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk

^^ I've heard the same, that you should be able to deflect (twist) the belt 90 degrees or so on its longest part between cam and crank. Change water pump also as a new belt with a slightly different tension will almost guarantee that it starts leaking

Yeah great advice, good idea to replace the water pump, as if it starts leaking youll have to do the job all over again

Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk
