fitting a clutch
 
how easy is it to change the clutch on a saxo (vts)? am i right in thinking the engine needs to come out? and how long would it take to change a clutch?

engine doesnt need to come out

i did a guide somewere more or less step by step

search for gearbox or clutch problems as i replied in someones thread

No, its not that easy, ur gunna have to disconnect all the gear linkage, then take the gearbox off the car, and then begin dismantling the clutch from the pressure plate etc. its a big job and u could mess it up so unless u or a mate has got some experience id pay to have it done. Plus u cant really do it without getting under the car n e way and even then ur gunna need about a metre and a half between the ground and the car

i am no mechanic and i have done a clutch on one car and a gearbox change on another. a mate helped the first time a bit but you need to have a clue about what your doing really. if you know a bit then have a go. its do-able!
