removing mk2 headlights

apart from the two bolts if there anything else to be taken off to remove the light?

riggsy 4th March 2007 17:50

Yes clips on the lower brows underneath!

Most of the time these brake but they are realy cheap so dont worry :)

Oh and its 3bolts isnt it?

TU-Tuning 4th March 2007 17:56

Yea theres a 3rd bolt behind the brows which as riggsy said have to come off. To get to it its best to use a long spanner or long nosed pliers to start off, then use your fingers once its loose. Then to get the light unit out you have to push the bumper down a bit and force it out. Or take the bumper off.

Unless you have inhuman patience, you will break clips

as said there`s 3 bolts for the lights. the 1 behind the brow is quite awkward to get to.

Lozza_vtr 23rd November 2008 12:52

I use one of these to get to the lower bolt, make the job so much easier.
