Low mile VTS putting back on the road

Well after spending a fair amount of time trying to find a decent VTS in any shape or form here we are.
One owner from new and covered 41k. Been off road and stored since 2010 so car is probably one of the most original out there which has never been modified. Lot's of recomminshing work to be done to name a few below. Belts, all fluids, discs pads, tyres, shocks, arms, tyres and belts. So here it is...... |

Started striping all suspension off the front end for replacement. Wishbones have never been changed as foam was sealed inside car. Can’t complain with that! Going to wire brush it all back, paint and seal.

Than onto the finishing touches you Dinitrol chip sealant. Amazing stuff but only available in black via aerosol.

Boot floor time, so the spare wheel I could see was rubbing up against the rail. Although I knew it was all solid I wanted to do the same with the boot floor as I did the with front inner arches.
So as before, striped, wire wheel back, treat, prevent, and seal. |

On to belts! So this is the first time I have done belts on car.... I followed the guide on here and it went well! Water pump just popped out with little effort and it's clear the belt has never been changed. Foam on top of cam cover has never been broken. Engine was rotated several times, pins put back in, removed and rotated again, pins put back in and all lined up great. Mole grips were lose, no bull dog clips...

Sooooooo as of now this is how she sits. Waiting to collect alloys tomorrow from refurb, fit new discs and pads tomorrow plus bleed the brakes with fresh fluid.
Car started and runs like a dream, all fluids checked, coolant bled correctly, new shafts fitted along with all new suspension components. Hopefully will be MOT'd within the next 10 days. |
