Forgot to mention, the car is Smart Roadster with Citroen C2 VTR Engine.
4 in 1 manifold,
Kent pt50 cams,
C2 VTS Inlet
Tune 4 Performance, Watford

TU5J4
VF35 turbo
C2 inlet
Pugsport cams (suspected blow-by)
KMS ECU (mild map)

Comparison of some select graphs in this thread:

Interesting how the spool time of the VF35 compares to the disco biscuit.

Can also see where the cams come into play over the standard setup.

Excellent graph :)

One small note there though (the comparison of the VF35 Vs. GT28) is was everything else equal? The pipework same size? Was the VF35 on the standard inlet, and with what cams?

I've got a couple of old graphs I'll post up if I can find em just to throw some more boost into the mix.

e8_pqck 28th September 2012 12:05

Yep, there is a host of difference with each setup that can change things, however for comparisons it is all we have.

Interestingly, most turbo applications make peak power well under 7000rpm so the forged rods don't really come into play.

i have added a few more dyno plots to the graph:

Monkgti 27th October 2012 23:37

fairly standard, just Ecosse enclosed induction kit and decat

Ross 28th October 2012 00:44

Am I reading that right? 42% transmission losses??

The 138.3bhp is just the correction and it the bhp on the day its just a gusse at what it would be is the temp ect was perfect.

The 132.5bhp is the gussed flywheel bhp (no rolling road can tell you the correct flywheel bhp thay just gusse)

The 93.7bhp is the bhp at the wheels (thats what it really has)

The 38.8bhp is the gussed trans loss from wheel drag on the rollers (so add this and the reall wheel bhp and you get the calulated flywheel bhp but its not correct)

And the lb/ft 124.1 i couldnt tell you what that is for wheels flywheel or with the correction (never really asked about it before lol)

the loss is roughly from a quick look is 29.5%

greyjasper51 7th November 2012 22:08

Has anyone got one of a std 100bhp vtr?

And that seems to be the norm nowadays apparently... ;)

I would estimate the atf figure to be closer to 115bhp.

blackie_2k5 19th November 2012 20:16

29.5 is high even for today's standards :p

e8_pqck 19th November 2012 20:30

20% max on a FWD really.

Why do brits even bother with flywheel figure - the only figure that counts is wheel power, all the US forums quote WHP on their printouts.

Gabbastard 20th November 2012 10:43

that torque curve is beefed

WestyVTR 25th November 2012 19:36

My 1.2 Clio 163bhp.

ok - added Ropers to the comparison graph - Sonny's Owen developments HTA is proving hard to beat on paper - wonder how it translates in the real world!

GT2860HTA - Sonny
VF35 - Me!
GT2860 - Ross
GTX2867R - Roper
T34 - Martin (Tweeqd)
GT30 - Ross

Cammed VTS for comparison!

jpsaxo 14th April 2013 12:55

dyno comparison graph needs proper mans RPM :D

Is your dyno chart on here? - i will see how it compares.

In the real worldn power doesn't translate into better lap times. All the vids i've seen of Sandy's engines has me very impressed, there was one of a 106 all over a 450bhp turbo cupra!

Yates 14th April 2013 14:01

So went up for just a service, had a cheeky power run, this is what we found

So said I could get a remap there and then, only shit thing was shell garage was closed so filled on 95 Ron. Got this...

Going to go back in summer get it done on v power, said easy get 400/400
