iTrader Feedback Rating System

Why do we need iTrader?

Due to an increase in problems arising from transactions arranged through the for sale and wanted sections of this community, a trader rating system has been implemented.

Restrictions were put in place several months ago to reduce the likelihood of bogus traders using the for sale and wanted sections, however problems continue to crop up, sometimes involving well established members.

I must remind you that Saxperience takes no responsibility for transactions, which you arrange and enter into. You do so solely at your own risk. Guidelines are available within the for sale and wanted forums to assist you in trading responsibly.

I do not like to see members fall foul of poor trading however, which is why this visible, self managing rating system has been introduced.

What does iTrader do?

iTrader allows you to provide feedback on a transaction, which was arranged via the Saxperience discussion forums. You can leave positive, negative or neutral feedback. When leaving feedback you must specify whether you were buying or selling. You must also provide a link to the forum thread, which the deal was arranged in.

You can view a user's trader feedback by viewing their user profile. A summary table provides information on number of positive, neutral or negative transactions. If you have the correct permission, it is also possible for you to view feedback comments.

Once you start to build an iTrader score, your feedback rating will be shown along with the other stat's beneath your username/avatar. Clicking the 'Trader Score' will take you to the user's feedback summary page.

How do you use iTrader?

After completing a transaction you may rate the buyer/seller by clicking on the 'submit feedback' option within the user's profile page. You must fill in all fields correctly, ensuring you provide a valid link to a forum thread, which the transaction was arranged within (this is checked). Once you have provided all of the necessary details and left some comments regarding the transaction, a private message is sent to the user you are leaving feedback for, informing them that iTrader feedback has been left for them.

You are able to reply to feedback comments so that feedback is recorded from both trading parties.

For a short time period you are able to edit your feedback comments.

If you do not agree with your feedback or think the feedback system has been abused, you may report your feedback comments to the admin team.

Criteria

Certain criteria must be met, to allow you to leave iTrader feedback. SOme of the criteria are: -

- At least one of the two people in the deal, for which iTrader feedback is being left must be the person who created the thread, being linked to.

- You may only rate a certain user once every 24hours, so if you have two deals and wish to leave feedback twice, please wait. (anti-spam)

- You must provide a valid link to a Saxperience thread, placed within an authorised forum. Copy/paste the entire thread URL for the appropriate thread, from the address bar above.

- Currently, approved forum ID's are : - 57,60,17,54,61,62,18,63,64,68,97,104,108,129,132,8 5,130,96,131 If you try to leave feedback for a different forum ID, this will not be permitted.

The functionality of iTrader may be expanded further, subject to responsible use of this system. As always, your feedback is very important.

There are a number of ways, which this system may be abused. Restrictions are in place, however if the minority spoil things for the majority then this system will be removed. iTrader only provides a benefit if the trader ratings it provides are completely accurate. Abuse of the trader rating system may incur infraction penalty points.

I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Probably not everything, but most things ;)

There is always a way to abuse a system if you try hard enough... but if that happens, the system will be removed. Its important it doesnt get spammed or create additional work for the moderators and admins.

It needs to manage itself - for the benefit of the community.

mrolinc 13th May 2007 12:07

does the feedback show on both the buyers and sellers? cool mod :)

Dan 13th May 2007 12:28

Great system boss, should work quite well.

Luke 13th May 2007 12:34

Great system there.

It will work well because the amount of times I have seen threads where members have paid for goods and not received them etc. At least now you can look at there profile before you buy anything etc.

garybuk 13th May 2007 13:03

when will the " Forum post page - iTrader score" be up? i cant see it under anyones name?

edit: my bad just seen it come up now

garybuk 13th May 2007 13:09

so shud/can we rate the person for fast payment? and that would be under buyer right? just makeing sure!

barrett 13th May 2007 13:21

yeah ratings can be given when justifiable, so if someone does send fast payment then it is justifiable to give feedback for that.

But bad rating for slow payment when they have told you it will be a while isnt isn't justifiable.

CampDavid 13th May 2007 13:25

Good idea, just needs to be implimented well, same as with the rep system

Tobs 13th May 2007 13:26

when does all this come in and start then

Luke 13th May 2007 13:29
