Where's the best place to find.......

...... cheap laptops??

The Girlf and I are looking to buy ourselves a nice Christmas Pressie in the shape of a laptop.

What sort of stuff should we be looking for?? We want it to be fairly quick and have a fairly big memory (preferrably 1024).

I think we've got a budget of about £450.

Can any of you help?

Cheers!

Chris :)

We,ve seen a Packard Bell in Currys Digital for £399 and that has 1gb RAM, 60gb HD, 1.6ghz, good for wireless. Might have to go for a trip to Comet on the weekend then!!

Dell are quite good, not sure if they sorted the problem out with the batteries that just burst into flames, but aslong as you've got a cupa tea near to put it out you should be fine :-)

£399 sounds a good price all jokin aside

Hhhhhm. One of my mates just bought a new laptop, he got a really good price for a really good spec machine. I'll try and get a link for you both.

dell have a tv offer on at the moment 19 inc screen dvd rw cant remember rest £399 all in

DevilDamo 22nd November 2006 20:24

Dell's prices are very good... I had a flick through one of their brochures today. But what's top of the range now will not be top of the range in weeks to come. It changes sooo quickly.

If I was to get another desktop or a laptop, then I'd be looking at getting a Dell.

Curran 22nd November 2006 20:30

i will be looking to get a new laptop soon.

dell are good because their laptops can be upgraded easily where as others cant. there are a couple of others that i know of that can be but i have forgoten which.

Aparently woolworths were selling some hp laptops half price this week, supposed to be very good too. They were reduced from £800 to £400.
