rpm meter and transmission problem

hello there people.

so i have a problem with my rpm meter it wont move at all
kmh, fuel and temperature gauges are working fine.
i checked the fuses and they are cool all
what should i check?

and for the transmission:
for the first and third gear i need to push a little bit harder and the shifter wants to stuck sometimes and i just get it back in the middle and try it again until it goes in.

any advice and help are cool! :)

thank you

Hello

What engine code and what year is your car?

if the rpm meter was working and has suddenly stopped, it could be the rpm meter has failed - if it is a 1.5D then the flywheel sensor may have failed.

First and third gear wear is common, the arm on the gearbox that the longest gear linkage clips onto wears out. The pin becomes slack. A new pin can fix this, or it will need drilled out and a bolt put in its place.

hello, thank you for your reply.

im not so good at english when it comes for car parts :(
mine is a 2002 year, engine 1.6i

and about the rpm meter as i got the car i wasnt moving at all lol.

and for the first and third gear how the pin looks like?

it's okay

the rpm meter is probably broken internally

have a look here for the pin. so you have an idea of where to look. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-1...-/323119370895

btw, how can i fix the rpm?

bump..

does someone has a solution for the RPM?

Hello again!

I think you need to replace the whole unit, it is much easier.

Alternative you could buy aftermarket rpm meter and take signal from the wire behind the dashboard.
