No, Sir, Your VTS is wrong...

So I ordered a Piper 4-1 Manifold,

I just rang citroen to buy a Gasket.

He tells me I should have my cat in manifold, and should see it from the engine bay...

Tells me my VTS is "wrong" for having a cat under the car..

I said as far as Im aware, no VTS had a cat in the manifold...

Computer says No.

- Ugh, Citroen Ashford isnt a good dealership.

~ in the end he sold me a gasket for my manifold for 3.70....
does that sound right?

Kelly 9th October 2007 10:16

the gasket is like a template kind of thingy isn't it? sounds a bit cheap but the price isn't far wrong, i think

Its a bit strange they dont know about the car they made.

He knows its a VTS not a VTR... :S

Vinny_VSX 9th October 2007 10:20

I thought that the phase 2 saxos all had the cats in the manifold :S

He should have a knowledge of the cars Citroen made but it seems they employ complete mongs half the time. Probably has something to do with that equal opportunity crap.

Nah Kelly, this is the Parts Manager,
very well spoken / well dressed guy.

But if it's wrong, I'll tell him one of my e-friends called him a Tard.

jeeves_101 9th October 2007 10:22

£3.70 sounds about right, when i did my manifold i put 2 manifold gaskets on and it cost me about £8ish.

Karl 9th October 2007 10:23

Why 2 may I ask?

jeeves_101 9th October 2007 10:24

my vts had 2 on as standard, and thats what i read somewhere before.

plus they are just laffer thin metal ones.

i expect you could, but i read you need 2, so i got 2, and when i took the old ones off there were 2.

i doubt he knew, there are numbest set of fooking nuts in the world at the dealers, i went in for a part number, but couldn't give the exact part, so went home, found it and went back, when i got there he said "i can't give you the part number", coont!

Karl 9th October 2007 10:31

Crap...
Might have to order another one of them then,

if it is the right thing he's ordered for me. >.<

yerdusk 9th October 2007 10:32

Price sounds about right mate. I bought 2 for my vtr from euro car parts, think they cost me £5 something for the two. Much better than citroen imo.

jeeves_101 9th October 2007 10:32

they are a bunch of monkeys tbh, and some at the weston dealer look like monkeys aswell.

Karl 9th October 2007 10:34

Will ring up again in an hour or so and tell him I need a second, lol.

Wayne 9th October 2007 10:51

price sounds about right for a gasket.

Japman 9th October 2007 11:10

ctiroen in swansea are like planks aswell

GreenSaxo 9th October 2007 12:05

0349 L3 is the part number.. parts site says you only need one...
