Red Vs Ellie

Hello hows everyone??

Weather was actually ok today so i went into whoring mode..

Meant to start at 8am but it turned out to be more like 4 hours later at 12 when the buckets and full detailing kit came out...

State of Ellie due to no cleaning for 3+ weeks...

Had to be done tbh...

Weapons of choice...

2x Bucket method with MF and Lambswool Sonus washmitts
Turtle zip wash suds
Poorboys Citrus Orange Strong Degreaser (5-1)

Jacko 25th November 2007 22:25

is this it or you showing us some finished pics?

bullit 25th November 2007 22:32

its still got soap on it red

also is that bag of groceries in the top bag

RedB 25th November 2007 22:32

I think iv managed to wash a few pounds of dirt off today lol...

Clay barred the whole car twice using Meg's Quick Detailer and another additonal softer yellow clay bar

And then re-washed with some clean, warm water, few light suds and an uber-soft Lambswool washmitt...

Dried off using an Ultra-plush Cyc Drying towel

Forgot i had white alloys under there :fcuk:
Left to soak first in a weaker diluted mixture of Orange Citrus degreaser and then shampoo
then dried off, polished lightly and sealed using Poorboys Wheel Sealant
(which Cracknell really loved!)

The full kit FINALLY came out...

Masking up with 3M3M tape in all of those awkward spots...

Rubbish pic of the current state of my paintwork
(believe me there were quite a few swirl marks, cobwebs and some blemishes)

Whore :A:

Wayne 25th November 2007 22:42

good results so far look forward to more pictures:) clearly a cleaning whore;)

James 25th November 2007 22:42

I apply polish on the outside of the pad, the middle of pad gets to saturated when you do it that way, your wheels are still dirty by the way. ;)

Critiszm at it's best.

RedB 25th November 2007 22:50

Groceries!? i had to grab another bag (sainos )
to hold all of my kit

Ellie was treated to a full work over starting with:

SFX-1 6" Pad and SFX-Polish to cover up some of the blemishes
SFX-1 spot pad was used on those tricky areas

SFX-2 Polish and 6" pad working the whole car twice

Been at it for 4 and a half hours at this point before Cracknell turned up to have a look (thankyou mate) also helpfully pointing out it was getting dark :(

Stuck with it and worked on until 6.30pm to finish the second stage evenly applying Sonus Swirlbuster polish and working it in variations of speed

SFX-3-Final Finishing Polish went on (also smelled lush!)
Using the SFX-3 6" + Spot pad until the finish was pretty much perfect and gave a really deep, wet-glossy finish

I was extremely impressed with the results i got today but it was too dark by the time i'd packed everything away to take any great pictures of Ellie finished and looking her best so they will come tommorow...

bullit 25th November 2007 22:52

after all that lol, its not took you long then

Creative critism Cloud :p

I found it started to so switched to smearing and only using the outside ;)

Really disappointed about how early it got dark so i couldnt get pictures!

Cracknell was a pain in the arse lol, he turned up in Suki and asked what i was doing and then smelt every product asking: "why do all of your products smell so nice!?" haha comment of the day

Alloys were cleaned, clayed, dryed, polished, buffed and sealed you detailing queen :homme: and were spotless i thankyou lol

Trust crackers to do that.

Looking good so far buddy.

James 25th November 2007 22:59

Does seam like you were a bit fast like man lol..

Me and Ash spend 8-12 hours on cars with 2 porter cables, are you sure your getting full correction? Get a brinkman or get it under a street light and stand back and look for any defects.

Did you do a test spot?,

I arn't being a cunt man but I am pointing out things people really do need to do when machine polishing so people don't make mistakes.

Clay barring = DULLLLL JOB.

carlos45 25th November 2007 22:59

looks spot on mate! :afro:

Your a Cunt...

The plate i ate off tonight was dirtier lol :p

You and Ash are slow lol... jokes

I know what you mean tho fella and you have got a point...
If the weather was better this last week and i wasnt such an over-sleeping slacker :homme: I would have had 10+ on her today like the plan was :n:

Was very impressed with the results that i could see after the last spot of polish had been buffed away but no-ones perfect and i doubt i got every single teeny weeny scratch but il be properly detailing her again just before Crimbo...
Saying this I still want more products, a paint-depth measuring device, halogen lights and more now!

skillz 25th November 2007 23:11

wow, call me noob, but I didnt realise you could put that much into cleaning!

I thought I was mad for putting my VTR through the "Gold" wash at Morrisons for £6 haha.

Yours looks alot better though I must admit.
