My project thread *UPDATE 15/03/08*

Here is my saxo got it for about £1000 a month ago, I went to see it at night and well that was a mistake as Ive found that the bodywork certainly needs alot of work, Ive took it on the chin and decided to make it into a project.

Things that I will do, in order.

-Bodywork.New bumper and back right hand side wing and bonnet refinished.
-New exhaust system, Probally piper.
-Lowering, 40mm?
-Air filter or induction kit.
-Suggestions?

Here are some pics

Bad Paint on rear drivers side wing

Bonet chips. need a new refinish

new bumper, needed cracked.

Thats about it really, if anyone can give me any tips along the way it would be much apreciated

cheers

Doesn't look bad mate. Digging the colour!
Plans sound good too...! Maybe some french plates to spruce it up a little, and dewiper? And replace that missing chevron at the front...

Hopcraft 27th November 2007 13:12

looks ok, your gonna expect that sorta bodywork on a car that old tbh. should lower 50mm and get a bmc or raceland induction kit.

try and get a standard petrol cap too

grantlowery 27th November 2007 13:13

yer i think de wipering will look good with the colour, I went to a local brokers today for a the chevron, is ebay better and french plates, how much are they?

Ive went to a local body repair shop today, been quoted 250 for the bonet to be refinished and the rear wing refinished as well as the 2 dints to be removed.
Didnt know if this was a good price so I booked it in because theres no were else round here that does it

£30 for the pair. Suppose at a breakers you might be able to just take it, and put it your pocket... They won't be expensive anyway though...

Im looking for a new bumper now, seen them on Ebay for about 85 quid, this a good price?

Hopcraft 27th November 2007 14:20

bodyshop price is ok i spose, always expensive tbh tho.

85 seems reasonable for the bumper.

grantlowery 27th November 2007 14:24

yer i cant find em anywer else cheaper, it will be about 60 for it to be fitted and sprayed I think

grantlowery 27th November 2007 16:31

quick update, had a bit of trouble with a non refunable "universal exhaust" but managed to talk my way into them refunding it against a Peco C1 specifically for my VTR what a result!

do you just pull em off then use white spirit to get rid of the glue?

Emma_ZS 29th November 2007 22:15

Yeah but be careful when peeling them off because of the paint, i didnt use white spirit just abit of elbow grease lol

grantlowery 29th November 2007 22:18

Just a slow steady motion then lol

Emma_ZS 29th November 2007 22:19
