Flashing Orange 'Key' Dash light!?

Hey eveyone

Hoping someone can tell help me with this little problemo...

When i put the key in the iginition and turn it to start the engine
The Orange Warning light with a 'key' symbol flashes up and goes out after I Keep trying the key

I had a new key cut a few months back but lost the original one i got with the car, that i was using as a petrol cap key

Still have the coding card for her but dont know how to re-code the new key so the ignition system recognises the new key :panic:

Help please, rep given :y:

Whys that?

What do you need to do it dude?
Weird thing is that the car starts as soon as it disappears and starts everytime it just take a while

its the immoblizer a good lock smith that can cut keys can just re program the immobilizer chip in the key shoulndt be too much to re-programe but as you have lost the oringal might be abit tricky haven you got a spare? ...if all fails go to citeron there sort it out......

or an easier and much cheaper way of doing it is to get the car started and remove the little black box in the passenger footwell. No immobiliser = no light but a higher theft risk, just a temporary fix for you :y:
