new to all this
hate to admit it but up until now i've always been a single bucket and sponge person... would rather not ruin my new baby though!
basically looking to stock up on everything asap and get it gleaming first off our hose is rubbish and i wouldn't mind a pressure washer. think this'll do? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...%2Bwashers.htm not bothered about it being too high power but will it spray foam/suds onto the car? or will i need one of these aswell? http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washin.../prod_335.html or can the super sprayer only be attached onto a normal hose end and not a pressure washer..? confused! got 2 buckets now plus some autoglym shampoo/conditioner and super resin polish. will get some snow foam, microfibre mitt, microfibre/waffle towels, wheel brush, sponge for wheels, probably some quick detailer. plus stuff for body plastics and tyres should the above give me a good finish if used correctly? any other suggestions/reccommendations? cheers, chris :y: |
id get a karsher pressure as you know what your getting really. the attachement i think only works on a hose. you should be fine then.
for your wheels get a ez brush from motorgeek and a couple of swisswax brushes for the face, and which will also come in handy for other stuff. so wont need a sponge you want some wax aswell |
cheers you're right to be honest. this looks much better:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...URE+WASHER.htm will work with all the karcher stuff too. plus it's got the detergent tank attached will get one of them tomorrow :y: got some microfibre bits today aswell - mitt, polish/wax applicator pads and cloths for drying will get a swisswax brush too for wheel face/exhaust etc think the megs brush will do for the wheels? looks pretty good http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels.../prod_189.html just the wax, trim and tyre stuff to pick now really... |
hmmmm... right i've put together a list. i'm after quick and easy but with top results (if that's possible!)
-plan is to karcher it with snow foam first, so will get both of them -then wash with the mitt and autoglym shampoo/conditioner -then super resin polish -then seal it... but which one to go for? thinking either autoglym extra gloss protection or poorboys/chemical guys... reccommendations please :A: -need help choosing wax aswell. thinking poorboys or chemical guys again... are the spray sealants/waxes any good? probably get this for between waxes: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detail.../prod_180.html think i've got some autoglym bumper gel somewhere so will use that on exterior trim then for wheels i think i'll go with the meguiars wheel face and spoke brushes not too sure what product would be best to use though..? then maybe get some poorboys wheel sealant too and this for the tyres methinks: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels.../prod_103.html any help and info appreciated. cheers, chris :y: |
i use the megs tyre shine. started to use it with a small paint brush, goes on a treat. as for wheel brush though the megs one looks the same but will start to fall apart. so defo get an EZ one
auto glym protection will be fine after your polish as for wax, victoria or dodo are your best bets unless you want to spend less. saying that vics do a small pot now. |
cool cheers, just a case of trying stuff i guess til i find out what i like best
got that karcher today so here's everything i've got so far... http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/4604/sl270553zq4.jpg few more bits and i should be able to get my car looking ok! |
i got a pressure washer from wicks, was only £29.99! basically a karsher replica
does the trick not so powerful that it takes the paint off my car either, has a soap adapter too which you can fill with whatever suds you like.. usually do a rinse then spray of soap then use a good old sponge and elbow grease.. id recommend car shampoo with wax finish. then finish off with back to black on bumpers etc. dont tend to polish/wax as its pretty pointless this time of the year, the weather & backroads cover my car in muck within 2 days. |
you use a sponge?
|
a germen applicator wouldnt go a miss either, can polish and apply wax
