machine polishers advice (udms ect ect)

my car has bad swirling all over it so is in need off more than a coat of hand wax im guessing... looking at the machines its £150 for the megs with products like £200

is there not any cheaper machines out there that work just as good / nearly as good, i mean in theory its just a machine polisher theres hundreds on the market for cheaper ebay / traders ect ect. im guessing the megs one is just the same cept as its megs its about 40% more in price due to brand naming (thats generally the case) so has anyone bought any that are cheaper than £150 and managed to work?

im not looking to use it all the time or anything just a few times really to sort out the swirling so it wouldnt be the best £200 spent if it did HAVE to spend that amount just to get rid of swirls

cheers guys

Hello mate,

You guessed right...It needs a full detail to correct the paint ;)

I got mine from Autopia in America and it came to less that £120 for the full kit including the UDM and Sonus product range :)

yea but when u buy yank you have to buy a plug converter or something for £70 odd dont you ?

In the sale atm :y:

Edit * Transformer? Got mine for £30 and you can use it for other tools and stuff aswell
Extension leads were cheap for me but i doubt you'd need them if you have a garage...

Plug on the UDM was just switched over :)

that one in the sale with 60$ delivery = about 150£ + the 30£ transformer you need ? that isnt cheaper than the megs one + the risk of getting taxed when its getting shipped to your address £30 odd

Didnt want to reccomend them but if you really want to spend less and not go for the 7472 PC then have a looksie at these dude...

Cheap but still good to work your way up from :)

I would highly recommend the PC or UDM if you can stretch to them though because the results are so much better and the options with both the machine and products/accessories are a lot more varied...Havnt looked back after spunking a huge wad of cash on cleaning gear tbh

I bought my Udm off Mike at www.thepolishingcompany.com for £150 alltogether including all the polishes to, but did have to buy a transformer, my udm went dead on me in the middle of detailing my dad's car the other week, Mike changed the Udm for the Meguiars G220 which is alot better, less vibrations, don't need a transformer and is a little bit quicker than the Udm.
