supercharged vts & Nissan R32 GTR skyline, more welding & masive brake upgrade.
;)Rite where to start, Well i got the saxo off a friend about 3 years ago after he got it from gmc (was there original demo car). The car did not last long and only 500 miles after it left gmc the blower went tits up so i got the car at a good price.
Once it was in my possession a new sp74 came  to replace the old 64 that was on it before. Even after that was fitted it sat about in my garage for nearly a year due to finance issues and how much the insurance was going to be.. While it was off the road i got a set of speed line cronos and got them coated black also fitted morette head lights and a very cheap carbon bonnet (was only £80) then it was a new omp steering wheel. ![]() so once the wheels were fitted and rest of body work was sorted i looked like this. Then 2 days later it went wrong agen in the form of a gear box going bang.So on to Tam (Ssc member) for new box. Back together it went fine for around 1500 miles then no drive again this time it was the clutch.. ![]() This time it took every spline off the clutch and gear box so back to Tam again and new clutch plate from Gmc. When it was off the road this time i took the whole engine out and took it to gmc for some new forged pistons. once back i cleaned it all down and gave it a paint. ![]() Also fitted some new stoppers. ![]() Well next up was the refit of the engine once it was back from gmc with new omaga pistons. Sorry no pics of the pistons. When it was at gmc i got john to fit a pug sport sump baffle and then phoned demon geeks for a oil catch tank. ![]() just about time to fit engine. ![]() Few hours later it was in. Also at this time i fitted new solid engine mounts and also wrapped the manifold. ![]() When i had the btb and manifold off i noticed that it was much bigger at the neck of the manifold than a normal btb. Think its a one off test system never seen an other one as wide. you cant fit standard exhaust to the manifold or standard manifold to the btb. i also fitted new stainless braided hoses for the engine oil cooler and also supercharger since they run very close to manifold. Once it was all back together it was prob 6 months since it was last on the road and it was run in time. As you mite have noticed i have had few problems with my car but thats only the half of it.. Once all back together it started first time but then disaster. my poor car started to miss fire and felt like it was running lean under load. At this point i thought thats it i an fed up with this car so it got locked away in my garage for few months. then at the start of august i thought f@ck it the car is going to gmc since i was all out of ideas.. Once i got it to john he started work on it right away. First phone call was not good turns out that the sid con had went tits up so first choice was do i fit new one or go for kms.. So kms was ordered with wide band and fitted but to save some money we went for standard injectors and used the 2 extra ones already fitted. Second phone call was yes you got it bad news. Turns out since the sid con was broken it was over fueling and mite have bent a rod so agen new ones were ordered in the form of wossner forged ones. They did take 4 weeks to come tho. ![]() Once they were fitted it then turned out that there was a leak between cylinders 1 and 3 dont ask but this seamed to cause the miss fire. Found a spare 16v head in my garage so that went on and the car was mapped and managed a slightly disappointing 196.2 @ the wheels i was hopping for a little over 200@ wheels still makes me smile when i drive it because it pulls like a train all the way to red line in 5th.:y: ![]() ![]() I have also just fitted some sparco rev seats and luke harnesses next up is to fit the flocked dash i have and find my self a cage.. Prob going to go for the s/d saxo cup cage. Here is some pics of the car on its last outing.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() hope you all like it and it all makes sense. Also hope all the pics work:wall: |
