olly_vts Track Slag Progress: Stripped SLAG! Plus seats!!

When i bought it - 99% standard:

To this:

Synopsis

I Bought the vts in jan 2008, off a guy who had been banned for 2 years so sold it cheap! The Car was an X reg - 2000 with just over 64,000 miles on the clock. The car also had a few mods which were, - bmc cda induction kit, viper alarm system, kenwood head unit, and all the car speakers were JBL GTO's. 11 months Mot, 3 Months Tax, Full Service History- £2000 thank you very much.

Buying the car drained most of my funds as i was still in 6th form! and had been fired from my job a week before. - Worked in a pub and got fired for drinking my own booze at the new years eve staff after-party after working till 2am anyway - bit harsh in my opinion. Still, got another job early feb, so i could start the mods.....

For some reason i wanted to do the exhaust first, so i bought a savage backbox, which didnt fit, so sold that straight away - Schoolboy

The cars ariel had also been snapped off, so bought another and had to fit and rewire.

I next sold the door and rear speakers it came with and upgraded to a pair of alpines for the doors and kenwoods for the rears. The sound improvement was very good. I then bought a Sony Bluetooth Headunit, which is great as it connects straight to the mob.

I also bought new number plates as the current ones were mucky and cracked. The new ones were nice and plain, with 'vts' written in smallprint along the bottem.

Update 1 - New Exhaust System

I wanted it to be quite loud, so i bought a gt3 exhaust system off ebay for £130, which included backbox, centre section and decat and got it all fitted for £35.

Its 4" so bit on the big side but sounds brilliant.

Hopcraft 18th April 2008 19:35

cool cool, get it lowered ! will look rather nice !

Roy-VTS 18th April 2008 19:37

not to big!!!!! lol looks ok a bit big for my liking, imo spray the grill up and slam it and your on to a winner

olly_vts 18th April 2008 19:38

Update 2 - Meshed Grille

I also upgraded all the car speakers to alpines and bought a sony bluetooth headunit, which is wicked.

The next mods i want to do are

Lowered all round 50mm
15" Lenso BSX's
Tints
De-badged - pretty much going for the euro look.

But as i have a cashflow problem atm i decided to do cheaper mods which include...

respraying and meshing the front grill

colour coding the matt finish plastic on the bumpers and the sides which i havnt finished yet.

also need to get that crack on the front splitter sorted out

olly_vts 18th April 2008 19:45

cheers, lowered is the next thing on my list, im still not sure whether to mesh the lower bumper to give it a wide mouth and would match with the grill, would look good, but lot of effort involved.

Update 3 - Colour Coded Bumpers + Sprayed Rears

Update 4 - New Wheel + Headunit

My mate had this lying around, so kindly sold it to me - for a good price. Also managed to come across a 106 boss kit in halfrauds for £15, which was a result imo.

Also bought a Sony Bluetooth Head Unit

MikeVTST 20th April 2008 20:32

no no no no no , them lights are shockin mate, you need to buy some smoked ones if your goin for that look, it just looks cheap an tacky now, that steering wheel is terrible too, exhaust needsa to be fitted correctly aswell otherwise bumper will get melted
