PayPal Payments

Hi, guys...

i am selling something tomorrow and the guy is making p'ment 1st thing to my paypal account but he is arranging a courier for the morning ?

if he makes the p'ment and its in my paypal account does that mean it has cleared ? because i dont want to recve the paypal payment, send the item, then the payment fail etc..

as long as its in my paypal acc does that mean the money is mine lol

betty02 30th April 2008 11:39

depends how he sends, if he sends an e-cheque it takes 7-11 days to clear, DO NOT send the item until that has clear, if it's instant payment then you can send it, keep recipts though ;)

Jonny_H 30th April 2008 11:40

well he said he gets paid at mindnight tonight. so will make p'ment 1st thing. so i'm guessing he'll just make a straight forward p'ment.

betty02 30th April 2008 11:42

Possibly just whatever you do don't send anything until it has fully cleared into your paypal, as soon as you send then keep the recipts etc!

Jonny_H 30th April 2008 11:49

well when it is in my pay pal acc i will transfer it into my bank acc straight away... (i know it'll take a few days) then i will arrange for it to be picked up... (i wont be at home but i'll ring someone who will be avaliable to let them know the p'ment has cleared.

makes no odds, the buyer can just claim it back even if its in your account, happened to me.

betty02 30th April 2008 12:21

thats why you keep the recipet and then they can't take it back ;)

Jonny_H 30th April 2008 12:29

when you say receipt? so you mean something on paypal ? or receipt from the courior

betty02 30th April 2008 12:29

Well it took me 7 months to get my money back, all they have to do is say they never received the goods, or it was an unauthorised transaction. Ended up putting me nearly £400 in the red in my paypal account, and they got the debt collectors onto me.

betty02 30th April 2008 12:34

Well i had it happen to me, them claiming not to of recieved anything and i scanned a copy of the recipt as proof it was sent and then everything was ok

Jonny_H 30th April 2008 12:58

only problem is he is arranging the courier as he works for them lol... and i wont be in when they are collecting the item.. i have got builders at my house atm doing my kitchen up so i'm gonna get them to give it the courier when he comes... surely the courier will leave a receipt for me wont he?

betty02 30th April 2008 13:14

Yeah no recipet no parcel, why can't he just give you the money if he's picking up? or is he sending some1 from his work?

Jonny_H 30th April 2008 13:34

he works for dhl. so he'll just organise it while he's at work today/tomorrow...

i#ll just tell the builders to get the receipt off them and then give them the parcel

the money has gone in, and i've added a bank acc so i can transfer my money into it, but it's saying somethin about a direct debit and saying that paypal are going to send 2 small p'ments to it to verify it's my account and stuff.... is that right ?

xxxvickxxx 1st May 2008 10:19

yer they do that, they will deposit to small funds in to your bank in about 3 days then you go on paypal and confirm they are in your account

Jonny_H 1st May 2008 10:25

xxxvickxxx 1st May 2008 10:26
