eat kak... lose weight. wtf?

ok if memory serves me right, if you eat shite, you get fat.

Right since I did a Half Marafonnnnnn in Liverpool back in March (weighed 67kg) I've done the grand total of bugger all training for anything else... eaten complete and utter kak.

Then felt a bit guilty t'other day so decided to crack back into training checked the scales and discovered I'd lost 4Kg.

10st bang on.

eh?

why nutrition geeks? why?

muscle mass (although you were a scrawny cunt anyway)

also you dont eat much or shit from when ive seen you.

and you also do alot of work etc.. so burns calories.

your metabolic rate also is there :P

May have lost muscle mass... If you'd built muscle training for the marathon, because it wasn't being used anymore your body may have used the proten for energy.

Or you may have sped up your metabolism training for the marathon, which has caused you to lose some weight.

Anyone else got any ideas..? :panic:

I'm like this, i took a break from training at the end of last year and my diet went out of the window pretty much for a few months and i lost weight.

Its muscle mass really, i've got a very high metabolism so i put on little fat at the best of times. The only time i seem to put on weight is when i eat healthy, eat big, and train.

Barry123 3rd June 2008 22:36

can't say I have a lot/had a lot of muscle to start with otherwise I'd argee... is the difference in density between fat and muscle really that much?

alextoffie 3rd June 2008 22:44

Its more likely to be muscle loss purely because your body will choose to eat away at your muscle way before it'd lose fat. Thats why anti-catabolic products are popular because it stops muscle break down.

You might not realise, i suppose... you look at yourself in the mirror everyday like everyone does and changes in your body aren't as apparent as someone else would perhaps notice.

what sort of foods are anti-catabolic dude?

protein is the last thing the body will use for energy

I'm quoting someone else here, but it kinda explains a bit....

Its a bit of spin IMHO, food is anti-catabolic - all of it, if you want to define it that way. Its better to think of making foods work towards your goals than falling in to the trap of dividing things is ways that aer little more than markeing trickery.

We all want to avoid a catabolic state, and there are ways of doing this, like getting your diet right, resting enough, not killing yourself in and outside the gym day in day out. That to me is the way.
A specific thing i can think of which is marketed as being anti-catabolic is HMB, which can be found in Cyclone, which i'm sure most people will have heard of.

Well maybe not for energy then, i'm not sure why, but I know you lose muscle mass which isn't required/used.

sayer, should have got in touch and let me know you where in Liverpool, could have put you up in el student mansion!

How did you get on in the half marathon.

Was a terrible route wasn't it! Was incredibly boring, didn't take in any sites, and then lapped around sefton park in and about about 1million times at the end!
