pjm300 10th June 2008 12:27

in the bunch of wires on the right there should be one which is labeled as remote, or signal

G_sus 10th June 2008 12:38

ok yea found that it comes from the back of the unit into a connector block do i join it at the block or do i cut the sleeve on the wire and attach there?

cheers

pjm300 10th June 2008 12:47

get a couple of bullet connectors to connect it, then you can remove it as and when.

or you could just strip the two and join them with sellotape :D

Predator_R32 10th June 2008 13:39

sellotape paul, you cowboy, do it properly with some connectors or solder it and put some heatshrink on it :p

pjm300 10th June 2008 13:47

if he had any sense it would all be stripped out and a whopping gurt engine put in :D

Predator_R32 10th June 2008 14:22

lol paul you slag

Where is the Remote cable attached to if you're not using an Amp?

Ashleyp 11th June 2008 19:01

remote wire is in A7 on the iso block

not the side thats in the back of HU, but on one of the other 2 plugs

potatopete 11th June 2008 19:06

Does this deffo need to be connected to the Amp for the Amp to work?
Will it not work from just the power and earth wires?

it will work, but stay on constantly, thus draining your battery

My wiring from the HU doesn't have any labels on so I can't tell which is the REM.
There are 2 it could be. There's a thin blue one, which is very similar in guage to the one which is in the wiring pack I bought and labelled as REM.
And the other available wire is a much thicker yellow wire, with a connector on the end.

So should the REM be the thicker or thinner of the 2 wires??

Cheers.

its the thin blue one mate!

potatopete 11th June 2008 20:30

If your yellow wire (perm live) isnt going anywhere, then the settings on the head unit will not save. You need to hook that up to the corresponding wire on the iso block mate!:y:
