this is what i was gonna do, anything in the wrong place? thanks 1. Interior - includes hoovering, cleaning seats and polishing windows 2. Engine bay cleaned 3. Wash car - 2 bucket method includes polishing/waxing and polishing windows 4. Arches cleaned 5. Wheels cleaned and dressed 6. Exhaust polished |
Hi Mate,
I always start with hoovering the car out first and generally giving it a good clean inside. That way you can shut the door on it then start on the outside.I normally rinse the car down first and clean the wheels. I will then wash the car twice while rinsing throughly. After drying apply polish, buff, then apply wax and buff again. Last I normally give the windows a going over with some glass cleaner oh and not forgetting to dry the wheels off, seal them and apply a good tyre gel too and maybe run over the bumpers and trim etc with some back to black stuff if necessary. I just used Zymol Creame Wax and ClearKote Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze Wax 2 weeks ago. It's been washed 3 times since then and each time it looks as tho it's just been polised and waxed with an impeccable shine to it. Cheers |
should really wash the wheels first after you have rinsed it

im also gonna do the bits inside where the door hinges are, where i asked you about last time should i do that befoer i rinse the car? thanks |
Hi Pred that what I normally do mate I rinse the whole car first to remove any dust etc which includes rinsing the wheels down.I then clean with megs wheel cleaner and an old sponge then rinse again. All that before I even make a start on cleaning the car...
|
i normally do this last to be honest with a damp sponge as mine are pretty clean already...

When i full valet a car, i get the car soaked, steam engine bay, cover car in TFR and also the arches/door shuts, Acid wheels up, once all done go round and blast it all off with jet wash
Then wash car off again with car shampoo, then rinse. onces thats done i then start on the insides are the car, then once all insides are clean then continue with the outside. But this is my way of valeting. |
sponge on wheels urgh a dont like the sound of that
i use a ex wheel brush, 2 smaller varnich brushes i got from B&Q with rubber surrounds, a scrubbing brush for tyres, and a soft brush for the face of the wheels megs all purpose degreaser on arches and tyres, and megs wheel brightner on the wheels themselves just a little part of my cleaning routine ;) |
I guess we all have our own way of clean Pred, some obviously better than others but I'm still new to this remember....perhaps I shouldn't give advice out then
|
no your advice is ok mate, just saying on how i clean my car, have got a lot of cleaning gear but need more still
|
That's cool mate. It's addictive I start buying more and more and think shit why have I just spent all that money on my car then realise it's cause it's my pride and joy.:y:
|
as said there mate wash the wheels first,id leave the windows until last
|
i always spray the wheels with Autoglym wheel cleaner, then leave it for a while i give the car a quick rinse to get rid of loose dirt, then jet wash the wheels in the same order they got sprayed, then start cleaning the wheels, then the car.
