106 GTI Exhaust?

Found an exhaust forsale but its for a 106 GTI, Will it fit on 51plate VTR? Anybody know?

Thanks

wont sit in the recess, as most 106 exhausts sit under the rear bumper

Ben 6th November 2008 15:23

It will fit but not into the arch thats already cut on the VT bumper, it'll hang slighty right of the arch and undernearth the bumper :y:

Danr 6th November 2008 15:24

It will look shiiiit not in the arch as well fella.

Ben 6th November 2008 15:25

Get the recess smoothed over then it'll look good :y:

Damn..

Because the exhaust im after is £390ish on kam-racing.

I looked on ebay and found one for a 106GTI for £100 less..

Have you seen what resale values you could get on a 106 website?

May be worth picking it up, selling it for profit and then buying the proper one?

I've looked at the pictures on both sites and they look exactly the same. But then i sent the ebay business a email to check and he said "no it wont fit" :S..

That sounds easily fixable with help of a hammer? Just hit the bars up abit that the mounts attach to? =\

Danr 6th November 2008 16:12

Buy the exhaust, use the centre section. Sell the backbox and then buy a saxo one? :)

Paul 6th November 2008 16:15

Hmm i reckon your first idea was best Dan,

I'll see what the resale value is.

I've never used 106owners before i dont think =\

I'll buy it, try it on, if it doesn't fit, sell it to a 106 owner.

Danr 6th November 2008 16:16

it's not very good mate.
Try Rallyreg. as well.
