Surface rust, disc

I have slight surface rust on an old disc waiting to be fitted, is the best way to remove surface rust with a wire brush or otherwise? :y:

i imagine so ?? it is a break disc your on about isnt it ?? because they get rusty anyway overnight, rain etc i think

yeah wire brush it off mate then use some brake cleaner, doesnt really matter if its just a slight build up tbh

cheers pred, just wanted to double check before I got the brush out. My 1.1 brakes aren't rusty at all john but the brakes from the S have been sitting for a while, most of the surface rust will vanish after a drive but I'd rather have them looking decent enough when I fit them :y:
