My 175.9hp N/A Euro Satin Black Saxo! BBS wheels! Trax update

Right, I've just got myself a Saxo VTS after having one a few years ago and wanting another one ever since.
I bought a R reg 86000 mile VTS for £700 which I was well happy with, but it also came with a sub and amp which I sold for £50 and I'm currently in the process of selling the headlights and grill so bonus.

But I'm going to make a bit of a project out of this slowly modifying it over the next few months, I have an idea of what I want to do just a case of sourcing the funds and time.
We're hoping to capitalise on all the experience we gained over the last 2 years with our Clio track car project.

First job on the car was to sort out 2 holes in the floor some previous owner had kindly put in using a trolley jack! Idiots:panic:

With that sorted we decided to remove the grill and headlights as they weren't to my liking. We got a pair of headlights and a Mk1 grill as I've always really liked the origional grills.
I fitted the headlights but had plans for the grill so the car has been looking a bit 'rat look' for a week or so.

I got a second patern grill off eBay to use to cut a section out of to debadge the origional.

Rather impressed with the outcome and as far as I can work out, it hasn't been done before!!:afro:

We'll keep you posted on further developments as they happen

Not to sure on that front grill, prefered the other one, also loved the Quads but not to everyones taste I suppose!

Sammy-Boy 21st November 2008 20:00

I prefer it how it is now with the smoothed grill and headlights. Quads are not to my taste tbh. Nice tidy btw coming on well!

Tom5190 21st November 2008 20:13

good move with the headlights tbh, not keen on the twin ones. i think the old grille looks better tho tbh. seems a good price for that car too. whats the future plans?

Nice project you got there. :y:

I think that grill has been done before though, theres a smoothed mk1 posi blue vtr on here and im sure it has the grill like that.

Very good for £700. I personally love the quads, but new grille looks great.

mark16v 22nd November 2008 15:13

Somebody on here with a blue VTR has already done that to their grille, looks trick. Clio looks tuff :y:

Beaniemoo 22nd November 2008 16:58

Thanks for all the comments, I have found pictures of this blue saxo and you lot are right it has been done before. But I'm still happy with how it looks

Beaniemoo 26th November 2008 20:06

Cheers for the comments and support everybody.
Couple more developments have happened now. First of all my de-cat pipe has arrived which I can now use to give me a bit more ground clearence so I can lower it more soon.

Next, one of the most important parts of any project, the wheels have arrived! Much to our surprise a box arrived this morning containing 4 wheels, all the same, exactly as we ordered and in quick time from Germany eBay! :clapping:
Just a couple of teaser pictures till I get them fully refurbished and they're a bit scruffy at the moment, but still got a good deal

Cheers for looking, we'll keep you all posted as thigs change!
Exciting times! :fcuk:
