VTS Wheel Weight

Searched before anyone says that. Lott of talk on here about loosing weight from cars etc etc. And just want to know the standard weight of a VTS wheel, rim only no tyre.

-Jason- 17th January 2009 22:29

Think its about 9kg iirc

VTR-120BHP 17th January 2009 22:30

thats quite heavy for a wheel right ??

-Jason- 17th January 2009 22:38

Not really I dont think

gouldy87 17th January 2009 22:57

it is when you compare then to oz and team dymamics etc..... iirc vts wheels are about 3 kilos heavier each so thats 12 kilos more weight on a full set

Roper 17th January 2009 22:59

yeah but oz and team dymamics are aftermarket wheels and designed to be lighter as used alot in racing :y:

gouldy87 17th January 2009 23:07

well yea mate. some people are really keen on weight saving so change the wheels, i personally cant be arsed changing my wheels. i love my vts wheels!

JoshB 18th January 2009 08:37

adsayer was gonna weigh one ages ago, dont know if he ever got round to it. Could be worth a PM

Jorge- 18th January 2009 09:48

Yeah thats what I read, hence I started thsi thread..

I am sure I wont be the last person to ask this

JoshB 18th January 2009 12:10

When I get some new tyres I'll grab one wheel when they take the tyre off and take my fishing scales!

Jorge- 18th January 2009 16:31

Anyone got one any sooner?

silversaxo113 18th January 2009 17:03

just weighed mine there for you without tyre its not road worthy because its buckledbut it wighs 7-8kg but not to sure how accurate my bathroom scales are

rushy_23 18th January 2009 17:06

Bathroom scales are rubbish from what I have read.

Wheels also depend on their offset and width too.

Theres like 25454 threads on this now..

silversaxo113 18th January 2009 17:08

i wieghed just a standard vts rim with no tyre i use them scales to weigh parcels and there pretty accurate for that

Jorge- 18th January 2009 18:57

As above really, ive searched and read about 30 threads. Everyone just says I will find out and post it up.

rushy_23 18th January 2009 21:21

Sorry your right mate. Ment wheel weighs in general.

Need some tyre weights sorting too imo

LSOfreak 18th January 2009 22:29

lol still isnt much of an accurate answer

Jorge- 19th January 2009 11:00

:( Adsayer...?

Barry123 19th January 2009 11:14

patience my child.

look my rims are being powdercoated at the moment 250 miles away from where I live. Once they're back from the powercoaters the rims will be weighed by dadSayer. Then when I'm swapping over the rims I currently have on (VTS rims also) will be weighed with the tyre on them.

tally ho!
