Gearbox

hey ive been offered a S2 gearbox done approx 40,000miles for 200pounds..

is this a good price?

it will be going onto a standard furio, and i remember reading that S1, S2 and Xsi gearboxs will increase my acceleration and decrease my top end :)

is this true? and will it be very noticable?

thanks guys

its quite expencive and is it a genuine 40k

an S2 box is quite tall gearing, its between a vts and a vtr so i doubt you would notice any difference

xx-jackson-xx 22nd January 2009 23:35

so i should be looking for a S1 or xsi to see a noticable difference?

unless your running high power i wouldnt bother changing it tbh

i would say find an s1 or an xsi box
you can pick em up quite cheap (i paid 100 quid for an xsi)

and youll notice the difference on a standard car let alone a tuned one

(also ill put this in the transmission section)

s2 is shorter than a vts box, i paid £40 for mine.

did think it was when he said that
40 quid is a bargain for one!!

tweeqd 23rd January 2009 21:30

in thats case who wants one as i have 3 sets of crown wheel and pinion for an S2

martin the s2 rallye is same as the 1.6xsiiiiiii

so inbetween the 1.4 and vts box.

I expect a few people will snap them up tbh
