:wall: Just finished my comps and slipped on last speaker screw putting a hole and crack through it , dad drilled hole too ow down on tweeter as well so now is different to the other and cant hear it as well. is there anything can be done about door speaker ? thinking of trying to find One jbl 507 speaker by itself on ebay only other thing is to live with it. for the tweeters i suppose il have to buy new doorcards and do it again ,and to top it off i creased my sax-p stcikers and found a crack in the windscreen, rant over

ppl think i should buy more and new doorcards or just leave it ?

demon_dan 28th January 2009 22:28

how much is it out by mate ...couple of cm's or really noticable. Also, is the sound so bad you can't live with it?
I nearly bought a VTR interior so I'd have had spare doorcards coz they won't go in my 106 without messing about.

Its about an inch further down than it should be and you can notice a difference between the left and right side but no buzzing or anything coming from the broken speaker , still not sure what to do , might glue the crack and put it in the passenger side and buy some new doorcards if some black ones pop up for sale ( had a quick look but just vtr ones for sale )

Edited above with a Q

rossj 29th January 2009 10:50

So your broken speaker doesnt affect the sound?

Because i slipped and put a screw driver through my sub and it still works perfectly...

Also how the hell can you have made one side an inch lower than the other!!!!

just move it up and ignore the screw holes until you can get new door cards

well i think i can notice a difference but people have said im just imagining it , to me you cant hear the bass from it as much as the other. but could just glue it and swap with passenger one, Dad did the tweeters and was being an impatient git so cocked it up , there drilled and screwed on as the whole thing not individual screws so woul dend up with a massive hole in the card.
