Tweeter Pod Bonding Issue
 

I am midway through building my tweeter pods that are mounted to the internal mirror cap. I have screwed the mounts that came with the speaker to it, I then used P38 [?] poly-filler to build it up slightly and then went over with a first layer of P40 filler. The issue I am having is that neither of the products are really bonding very well with mirror cap. Can anybody suggest anything that I could use to help keep it bonded together?

Try hotmelt glueing them into place first then building up the filler onto that or just hotmelt them into place, cover with speaker cloth and resin/hardener, thats what i'm doing as per this guide:

best putting a pair of thick tights over and putting the resin and hardner over them.

use fiberglass filler and give the surface a scrath coat first (scratch it to fcuk).

scratch the surface of the mirror caps so its rough and then the bonding will hold on to it

Cheers guys. I did consider both of the options discussed above. Shame as don't feel I have much left to do for these to be complete to rip them back to basics.

Might just go with the tights option as I might be able to just cover what I have already done.

I did sand it down lightly prior to starting but obviously when working with this plastic I needed to scratch it to bits.

ive had this problem when making my tweeter problems even when the bass was scratched up it still would bond right di i just drilled a few hold stuffd them with tissu then put resin in then so the resin in the holes held it on beter

Yeah when I was applying the filler I drilled a few holes round so the filler could go in the holes and bond better. That seems to be holding much better then the poly-filler stuff. Probably going to just go and wack some tights on it now.
