reverse lights wont come on
 

i've noticed in the last few days when i put my saxo in reverse the reverse lights wont come on they do come on every so often or when i realy bang it in to reverse anybody have any ideas whats the problem thanks:panic:

Gearbox reverse switch.

Check its clean.

It's on top of the gearbox.

The car has to be put into reverse for the lights to come on. Sorted :)

mine dont work either but you dont need them for a MOT so i just left them lol

is the reverse switch inside the gearbox or outside???

the mechanical part of the switch is inside the gearbox if you disconnect the lead and use a 19mm spanner (i think) to remove the switch, check the condition, my reverse light wasnt working when i bought the car and found this to be the problem
