Urgent Help Please!

Guys my laptop just froze, and now I have these pink lines running thorugh my whole screen. Tried restarting, changing drivers!!!

Can't change display settings or anything!

PSPDan 8th March 2009 22:39

Tried installing anything dodgy?

Davekelz 8th March 2009 22:42

Nothing mate, was watching tv and it just happened all of a sudden :O. Gonna try system restore!

PSPDan 8th March 2009 22:43

Yeah I'd try system restore. Haven't seen this problem before and I'm better with macs than PCs. Have you tried googling? I'm sure there's someone on here who can help, just haven't seen the thread yet.

I'd say the graphics card may have gone but I'm not sure that it would bring up that message.

How old is the PC?

Davekelz 8th March 2009 23:02

It's about a year old laptop. I'm thinking somethings overheated, looks like it did when my xbox overheated!

Stickyjam 8th March 2009 23:06

that error message implies bad driver... what OS you using? xp?

Davekelz 8th March 2009 23:09

No, it is actually Vista 32bit, I have no idea why that error is coming up when I try to install the drivers!

Anushka101 8th March 2009 23:23

From that screen shot it looks like u was installing nvidia drivers and something went wrong? i would try unistalling the drivers and reinstalling them. looks like a Graphic issue. have u installed/ add on anything to the computer lately?

Could be graphics card just over heated?

Davekelz 8th March 2009 23:25

Na the computer screen went funny randomly. I tried installing the graphics drivers afterwards to sort the problem. This sucks! :(

Anushka101 8th March 2009 23:28

dont kno bout laptops mate, if it was a PC id rip apart the case and have a look at the grapics card. could be anything like the card have become lose from the slot, fan stopped working, over heating, or simply drivers.

you didnt happen to change the resolution to something your computer does not support?

TikkA 8th March 2009 23:30

goodall3518 8th March 2009 23:36

porn virus ftw.

Davekelz 8th March 2009 23:38

Naw it is a 32 bit, and I didn't try changing anything, like I said it just randomly happened!

Davekelz 8th March 2009 23:40

This is what proporties says:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

Btw it's a Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT

Penn 8th March 2009 23:42

Honestly? Looks FUBAR, re-install Vista.

Davekelz 8th March 2009 23:46

I don't think it has anything to do with Vista as its fubard when I first load up at the beginning screens...
