turbo my vtr

hi all

has any1 got a rough idea how much it would cost 2 turbo my vtr??

and wot kind of bhp i would gain??

Sparco_Tom 14th March 2009 09:21

5-6k for a good set up. lose the text talk aswell forum rules. unless you have some major money in the bank, stop dreaming.

also use the search function

gixxa 14th March 2009 10:38

could be anything from 100bhp to 500bhp, cost can vary from a few grand to silly money

VTEC-Saxo 14th March 2009 10:40

whey yet another thread, another dreamer, who will never turbo his car.

Sparco_Tom 15th March 2009 03:52

starting to get old now

Dboyvts 15th March 2009 08:29

boost costs an arm and a leg. best idea is to forget it save your cash and get a better car. Thats why i have spent prob 8k on my engine lol

DanT 15th March 2009 09:21

Hahah i love these threads.

Que Vtec-Saxo's induction/turbo charging thread link.......:D

ollsaxogti 15th March 2009 12:13

me too its great ! !

bencork_vtr 15th March 2009 13:54

what has the world come to when you carnt even ask a question
you fucking knob heads

daihughes 15th March 2009 15:18

i agree with this you guys should just give the guy a answer instead of running him down how do you know if he is going to do it or not

mikelvtr 15th March 2009 17:05

it may be anoining every 1 asking the same question everyday but if you get that pissed of with it why evan click the thread in the first place????? it makes me laugh when you all slate the fuck out of him, or any body else with the same question......just dont give him an answer if its going to be a sarcastic reply. any way.....
yes m8 it is alot of money, if you aint got a spare 5k nockin about then save up and get a faster car.

LeeM 15th March 2009 17:16

poor fellas only asking a question! how does everyone know hes not going to do it?
anyway to answer the question i think a low boost setup can be done on around 1000-1500 if you do it yourself, but because you have to ask i assume it may be too much for you to do?

DigFonzSaxo 15th March 2009 17:50

Hello mate, to be honest save your money and get a better car... OR if you want to stay with a saxo. Sell your VTR and buy a VTS and Cam,DirectInduction Or Throttle Bodies would be cheaper than a tubo,Uprated ECU/Mapped, New Flywheel and a nice big service should do the trick for a lot less money.

Or just go buy a Focus RS lmao ;) jokes

DigFonzSaxo 15th March 2009 17:52

whoops SS 4-2-1 Manifold and Straight through exhaust system too lovely job.

bencork_vtr 16th March 2009 08:01

i asked the question as i have just got another vtr for £250 and wat to do i turbo track car i still have money in the bank bt nt £5000 could only got to about £3500, turbo was just one of many options
thatnkz for all your opinions :-)

VTEC-Saxo 16th March 2009 08:06

Hmm well i was just saying seeing as there's about 10 threads a day, if you got the car for £250 i doubt the engines any good for boost, first port of call would be a low mileage S engine or newer forged vtr engine, and its alright having the power but the main things for track really are brakes suspension tyres etc, no point in having silly power if you haven't got the car to handle it, seems like you have a healthy budget unlike the "want to turbo my car for under £200" guys

A VTS+cam, TBs, ecu and mapping with flywheel would probably give you 170 ish bhp. And cost the best part of 3k.

A VTR with a turbo will cost similar, do similar power and have scope for more power in the future. :)

The_Notorious_C_A_T 17th March 2009 00:57

Give gmc a call. iirc to call them it costs so less likely to get dreamers calling them.

I do agree that there are alot of these threads, but most questions can be answered with a search, and if people don't bother to search which costs nothing it doesn't give the impression that they would be serious about the idea if they don't even research it first.

First thing I do is search, then if I can't find the answer then post.

Xsi16v_Jk 17th March 2009 12:09

Turbod saxo is serious power aswell, you need to be able to drive it without wrapping it.

Id stick to breather mods for now buddi, but if you have deep pockets then fire away fella.
Cituning do well on turboing a VTR but then ive been told DP engineering are good kits.
