Removing rear window to tint

Hi i was woundering if it is possible to remove the rear window on a saxo so that i can tint it myself. i already attempted myself with the window on but took it straight off ass it bubbled and scratched. I tinted my side winsows previous however was granted i could remove the windows.

i've already recarched window tiniting on this forum but cant find anywere that shows you how to remove the rear window. It is as you will know heat wired however you should be able to remove the winsow, tint it and re-insert the window correct me if im wrong.

Thanks

I don't think its possible mate.

I got mine done proffesionally and would seriously doubt he took the rear window out lol

im going 2 tint my windows soon and i think im just going 2 take the boot off and do it that way

johnlambert 14th May 2009 17:16

you dont need to take your window or boot off. get a heat gun,a simple hair dryer will work too

Last months, or could have been the month before, French Performance car magazine had a guide to tints. They removed the rear window on a Megane to ensure it was cut to the right size. I was just glancing through the mag in the mags section at Tesco so I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly sure they weren't just some average Joe doing the job.

Id just get the professionals in on it... takes them 5 minutes sort the back window out... Too much hassle for me personally, So i always had mine professionally fitted...

I took the rear window out my 106 the other day.
used a hammer.

RichM 17th May 2009 13:45

You can take the rear window out otherwise people wouldn't beable to replace it (if needed) and how do you think they put it in in the first place lol.

Obv you can do it, what i meant was that proffesional tinters i don't think they do it

vts_nico 17th May 2009 16:07

if you take out the rear window, you'll have to cut the seals and get new ones when you put it back in.

Morgiee 20th May 2009 22:00

how much would the replacment seals be?

Jonny_gillett 21st May 2009 13:07

This thread is really interesting...Not because I want to tint my rear window...
but because im look to replace the seal on it....
Anyone know if its an easy job? Cost?
Anyone taken their window out and put it back successfully?

Tom5190 21st May 2009 14:00

its a job for a window fitter id think, may be hard to get the window out and back in undamaged, i certainly wouldnt try it.

sykes2009 21st May 2009 18:55

its only about £50 to get the rear window tinted profesanoly (i know my spelling is crap sorry) any way i had mine done the other day thats how much it cost me. do the rear sides your self then get the back one done profesanoly

Morgiee 22nd May 2009 10:22
