Had the car 2 weeks now, so i thought i'd whack a progress blog up for her :)

When i got her.

Starmags:


ATS Classics:


First mod - Smoked Headlights.


Second mod - GTi Leathers.



Future plans are to get her slammeddd, Some starmags or ats classics with 20/25mm spacers to sort the offset/get abit of poke, Then a few bits smoothed :)

Im liking the look of those starmags, really suit the car imo :y:

There was nawt wrong with the 106. Just hammered it too much ><

Wish i had the gearbox off that though. :(

Just ordered some wind deflectors, Waiting on smoked fogs + new Grille, and i think Andyjos is bringing his socket set down tomorrow so we can fit the front leathers :D

Liking this so far! Personally prefer the star mags!

Whats the difference like between this and ur old 106? I only ask as im looking at swapping over to a vtr

ats classics are only available in a 13" iirc

however if your flush with cash look up htn rs alloys
come in a nice range and direct fit

nah if you look in ancient threads of when i first got my gti youll see i wanted to go euro with it
was planning on some 8" htns all round

But whats wrong with the gearbox? Is it awful?

But i can't decide between a gti or vtr have you tried them both?

Blimy! It's certainly a step up from your old 106, looks brill!

The gearbox lets the car down IMHO. The ratios are far too long, If you put a shorter ratio box on the i can imagine it being even more fun.
