After browsing through some of the topics i wondered how easy it is to actually steal i saxo, i have a 2001 vtr with no alarm just imobiliser, any ideas?

boz 29th December 2005 05:24

from what i have read, its really easy but peeps wont mention how to do it on here for obvious reasons. from what i have herd, its best to remove your door pins and get a decent alarm

addictedtosax 29th December 2005 07:46

erm i dont think its easy at all actually. yes its easy to break into a saxo, but without the actual car keys it'd be nigh on impossible to actually drive it away because of the immobiliser

so basically for someone to steal your car they'd first have to steal your keys. Im sure thats right

its very easy. if someone can get into your Saxo they'll more than likely know how to start it. i know people that could get into a car & start it very quickly.

definitely get an alarm sorted & remove the doorpins

DAVTR....... you've just done a very very silly thing,......

from what you've just told us, i can work out that...

1. you have a W, X or Y plate VTR
2. you live in Nottinghamshire
3. your car is blue (standard too)
4. your car also has NO ALARM and JUST AN imobiliser.....

If i was a car theif and lived up near you, your car wouldnt be very safe man..... try to keep the unsafe detail down to a minimun...... just to let you know buddy ;)

On topic..... saxos are very easy to break into.... no so easy to STEAL!!!

Obviously they all come with an imobiliser, which makes it very very hard to run away with iff not impossible.... but im you managed to get passed that and the steering lock, then the car would be fucked anyway, they wouldnt be able to sell it on etc, no KEYS.... Plus they would have proberly hasd to rip most of the dash off too.....

hope that answers your question..... if i were you man, id get an ALARM QUICK!!!!

If not just a shitty door sensor..... saxos are so so so easy to break into..... mines be done over twice .... both times they ripped the corners of the door down.... if it wasnt for my CAT 2 alarm i would have had alot of ££££££ worth of sound stuff nicked.......

The first time i actually left a wallet full of cash in my glove compartment lol silly silly me hehehehhee but the alarm did its job and they legged it.....

what is the best affordable alarm to get then?
also when you remove the door pins, arent you left with a hole in the door card or can you plug it somehow?

Craig 29th December 2005 16:30

the hole can be sorted with a rubber grommit from halfords

gafvts 29th December 2005 16:34

very easy to steal your car mate,if you know how.just try to get alarm sorted as soon as you can

saxx 29th December 2005 16:36

tbh door pins or no door pins they'll get into your car

wrenchin the door open isnt effected by door pins!

i put an alarm on my car the moment i bought anythin of value to go into it!

and considerin i left it unlocked on thedrive in the summer for a few days/nights the lil flashin light must be the only thing that stops them!

davtr 29th December 2005 16:36

Well its not that bad coz i'm gettin an alarm fitted next week its the actual theft of the car that i'm bothered about as theres nothing worth stealing in it anyway

Dan 29th December 2005 17:53

Toad do good alarms which are quite cheap. I had one on my saxo which only cost £275 and had alot of features.

rich_saxovtr 30th December 2005 07:53

it is quite hard to get a saxo started tbh i had to try it to my old saxo which was the chipped key one im not a thief or anything i had to get a auto electrian i knew to do it and he tryed and without chopping alot of wires he could'nt do it he says there ment to be cat2 immobilisers as standard

was a lot quicker and easyer to plug an unlocked ecu into it
