Project:Stealth - My Black 2003 MK2 VTR Thread! Updated P4\#69 (Rallye Inlet plans taking shape + Can you spot new mod?)

Hello all of sax-p, I've been a member on here for a while, while i was looking for my first saxo, never wrote my own progress thread yet (yet i've had 2 other Saxos), both were 1.1, and now i'm 19 I've made the step up the Saxo ladder to a VTR.

So here is my intended progress thread, that will be updated, well, when theres progress i would imagine ;)

Pretty standard, apart from the painted VTR alloys and the pipercross induction kit. Plans are to deck it, smoked front headlights, rear tints, black Citroen chevrons on the front, matte black sunstrip, and ashley exhaust. Not thought anymore than that atm.

So heres a few pics, well get some more uploaded later.... your thoughts?

Thoughts?

Looks like a minter mate, lowered 50mm and with your other plans it will look spot on

J222JRA 2nd July 2009 08:18

as said above mate, looks very tidy, will be much better once lowered though

_ELECTABUZZ_ 2nd July 2009 08:46

colour code your bumpstrips :y: and as J222JRA Said it'll look better when its lowered.

CraigLovelock 2nd July 2009 11:12

Stealth it :D

Claireeyy 2nd July 2009 11:46

ta for the comments lads n lasses :)
but...

It failed its MOT today
Front discs need replacing
CV joint needs a new clip
Front exhaust has part of the system "excessively deteriorated"
Both nearside & offside rear suspension arm has excessive play (the bushes are shot apparently)

This is wounding, as its MOT runs out Monday so I'm struggling to get it booked in anywhere! :wall:

saxocallum 24th July 2009 17:21

the rear bushes mate it is easy to replace the back axle

theecho 24th July 2009 18:01

yeah, going to be replacing the whole axel\beam, price of a refurbished beams will make me a poor man :(

anyone know of anywhere decent to either get a refurbished beam or to send off to get mine done? got to be within the west midlands?

Car looks good mate, shame about the list for the mot though. There is some guy on here who re-builds them, him and his dad. Apprantley they do everything including replacing the stubpins, which it seems quite a few people don't do. Pretty sure they are based in the west mids area. Speak to willsey he will probably know. Or you could post a thread on the general chat asking who does it.

Wee-Willy Update
Well, I've sorted most of the MOT failures, the only thing left to do is replace the rear axle for a refurbished one. Hopefully I will be collecting and fitting it Saturday.

I've asked the guys doing the refurbishing work to drop the rear axle 55mm as there was no additional cost in them lowering it, so i thought why not :zainy:

Then today at 3:30pm the courier arrived with these babies, Apex 50mm springs :)

Going to be fitting these Sunday morning, just in time for my MOT-Retest on Monday afternoon.

I've also started smoking a spare set of headlights and painted my chevrons gloss black :y:

Whats Next?

If all goes well on the refitting of the axle, springs and the dreaded MOT, I want to grab hold of an OMP Upper Strut Brace, fit my Ashley Backbox, limo tints, and wind deflectors.

They are the immediate plans after the MOT.

clean mate will look nice lowwerd

Woooop! Back on the Road (Well have been for a while!)
Well, got the car to pass the MOT, got my hands on a refurbished rear axle, had that lowered before it went on the motor.

Then had my Apex springs and had the front dropped. So now I'm 50mm on the front and 55mm on the back :y:

Also smoked my headlights and painted my chevrons black :P

Now less words, more pics!..

Old axle removed, breeze blocks, the old skool way to keep a car in the air when you don't have big enough axle stands :y:

New axle on the day i collected it from Burnley. Dropped 55mm, tasty :D

New axle put on, just needed to fit the springs at this point.

Front springs fitted..

So thats the progress so far, just got to modify my exhaust hangers to get my Ashley backbox to fit flush. Then its on to the next stage of modding
