well i sold this last year around june/july time, but as the new owner is on Sax-p he will be taking over this thread with his progress since taking it off my hands.

so over to you Sean_VTS................

Well as previously mentioned from Adum I am the new owner of the VTS a few people have met me and a few have seen the car about, no doubt thinking hold on that’s no Adum lol.

Love the car, soooo much fun to drive and the gold looks awesome……………………………….......

I thought it was about time to start my own progress thread but because the car was previously Adums I thought that it would be a good idea to carry on with his original progress thread.

I’m nowhere near as good with Photoshop as Ad so don’t be expecting any amazing chops like previous.

Since ive had the car ive done a few bits so take a look and tell me what you think J

As it stands today

New ICE

I had my head-unit left from my previous car so thought id use that it’s a Kenwood touch, flip screen DVD. Really liked it in my last car so thought id use it again. Also whilst I was there I wired up an amp and put in some JBL components and some Infinity 6X9s (as much as you guys are now rolling your eyes) Sound a lot better than it did so im happy

BMC CDA (A DIFFERENT WAY TO BREATH)

When I bought the car it came with a Piper cross induction kit and I thought that maybe it needed something that would allow more air into the head. So after much debating I went for the BMC.

Simple job getting the Piper cross off and took me all in all about 10mins to fit the BMC with red SFS 90degree bend to TB.

Its made a hell of a difference, really worth the money to be honest!

And now with the BMC and how the Engine bay now stands.

Removal of the so called EGR Valve.

Well after being told this was an easy job and seeing how much it tidied up the engine bay I thought WHY NOT?!

Instead of using the pound coin like a lot of people have I used the blanking plate. Just seemed much tidier.

So after a while I got the top bits and pieces off and thought hey this is easy took me about 10mins so I was chuffed…………………………….until I found out that the pump had to be removed, what a biach that was, took the passenger side wheel off and it was just behind the arch a bit further up in the engine bay. After a few more hoses and screws and bolts were removed I started getting somewhere and it did look a lot better!!

New number plates.

Just a little touch.

Number plate lights.

Just to make things a bit fresher really, make a hell of a difference look much nice than the yellow look bulbs lol.

No pics but everybody knows what they look like by now!

Fitted new brake pads and painted calipers.

On my last day off I got round to fitting some new red-stuff brake pads and paint my calipers red. With the use of good old hammerite a few coats and job done.

Also whilst I had the wheels off I thought id give them a really good clean and also clean the wheel arches and surrounding areas.

Before

After

Well thats about the 2nd coat i think so looks better than that now will get a pic up under the wheels soon.

Black badges.

Another little touch. Got some t-cut involved on my rear badges, looks 10xs better no continuing with the black theme.

OMP upper strut brace

A delivery from kam racing bought me my upper strut brace, really hard job this one lol jokes took about 5 mins and continued with my red/black theme, made the car feel more solid so quite happy with it would defiantly recommend!

Random engine bay colour coding session.

Well much to the pain of Adum after he spend hours cleaning up the rocker covers and giving them the polished look I went ahead and painted them :S (sorry again mate).

I painted the rocker covers satin black and the coil pack cover red. As I already had a red/black theme going on I thought best to continue with it!

Service

Just had a full service, oil changed now with Silkolene pro-s. New plugs- NGK Iridium.

Car drives a lot smoother now. Really pleased!!

Plasma Dials.

Fitted some Plasma Dials aswel now they look awsome, just need to change the rest of the bulbs to LEDs so that they all match in well etc.

How they look now, like i say it will look a hell of alot better when ive changed all the others to LED.

Got a few more MODs coming within the next week or so. So i will make sure you keep it all posted guys!!

UPDATE!

Port and polished throttle body.

Right just a small update, after a random idea and the fact that i couldnt live without my car for a couple of days i decided to port and polish my throttle myself. This is what it looks like

I thought it came out pretty well and it is a well worth while mod as you do feel the difference, as much as people argue about it the throttle reponse is better.

New Brakes.

Picked up some new brakes, got 406 V6 coupe calipers, carriers and 283mm disks.

Am in the middle of painting so i will get some pics up of them once i have finished them, got some new brake hoses on the way so im hoping to have them fitted by next weeked but we shall see!!!

MK1 Rear lights.

After being told that MK1 lights would look a lot better on my car, the hunt to find a set was on! So i set my sights to ebay as i havent got time to go to a scrappy and the ones by me are pretty useless.

So i got myself a set think deals for £4.75!! I took a pic with one of each on the car so comments and thoughts please!!

SMALL UPDATE

Well after much talk of widemouthing i thought well today on my day off id do it :clapping:

Well heres the pics so let me know what you think :y:

Say goodbye to the slats :n:

Once it had been cut out :fcuk:

The next bit was the pain in the arse, a hell of alot of sanding and about 2/3 hours later this is how it looked......................

For now thats about it, i am going to pick up the paint etc 2moro but i wont actually be able to paint it until sunday which is my next day off.

I put the number plate back on as i have to drive it to work for the next 2 days.

Thats how it looks now.

I also gave it a quick clean, id already cleaned it the evening before but i noticed a couple of swirls so got some Meg's Scratch X involved and did the whole car, no more swirl marks or scratches

(All pics are from my mobile so not really all that great lol :n:)

Sean_VTS 28th July 2009 10:34

Well lets get started with the widemouth that i started........................

MASKED UP AND 1ST COAT :D

There will be a pic of how it stands at the end of the post. :fcuk:

NEW PLAIN DOOR CARDS.

TO REPLACE THESE.

HOW IT LOOKS NOW :y:

AFTER YET AGAIN DECIDING TO CHANGE MY ENGINE BAY THIS IS HOW IT ENDED UP.

Missed the polished rocker covers actually and a few people were glad to see them back :)

GTI LEATHERS BIG THANKS TO WES FOR THESE LOVE YA BUDDY

DEBADGED THE REAR END ASWEL

HOW THE CAR STANDS NOW, WITH NEW 106 MIRRORS ASWEL :fcuk:

FEW PICS FROM BHP SHOW ON MONDAY :D

ANOTHER UPDATE FOR THE DAY..............

Well after buying a steering wheel at BHP although it wasnt the 1 id wanted for ages it was still am OMP 1 which was what i wanted lol. So after going online on the old mobile yday i found the 1 i wanted on the for sale section so i bought it now i am going to sell the one that id bought previously lol

Anyway enough jibba jabba heres the pics fitted :D only took 10mins :D

UPDATE!!

Well guys i said that i would have an update for ya :clapping:

After thinking this would be an easy job, how mistaken i was!!!

A pain in the arse subframe and 3 days later i got there, just before lastnights meet :drink:

If it wasnt for my Brother Ryan as some of you from the SE already know then this would have been possible. He spent his whole day off fitting the harnesses and trying to repair the broken subframe so BIG thank you to him as i know he will read this, so thanks again mate :D

So here we go!!!

Sean_VTS 28th July 2009 10:35

Small Update :)

Well scince the last time i updated i changed alot of things on the car and there are many updates to come this month but im not giving away too many details :homme:

The rear seats said good bye as they didnt really fit in with the newly aquired buckets :S

Anyways Pics guys

Meshed my fogs, i like it but many people dont but give a shit!!

Finally meshed the widemouth :)

Obviously there is alot more strippage to be done.

SMALL UPDATE (excuse the pun :homme:)

Supersprint FTW :D

Update time y0!

Well i promised an update guys so here we go :)

Thought id include a couple of pics of my car from the SE Pizza Hut meet.....

I left the meet early as i had to be up at the crack of dawn for a long drive up the Chesterfield to go and meet Evans1089 :y:

Well after 3 1/2 driving i got there and the work begun :)

Pictures of the outcome to follow ;)

Well as ive had the whole weekend off i thought id fit the dash that i picked up from Evans aswel.

Removing the dash was a bit of a bitch.

This is what was removed.

A few more bolts and a very tight squeeze and..........................................

This is what i was left with. So whilst i was there i removed all the un-needed wiring and airbag ECU. Then thought might aswel remove the Sound proofing stuff from under the carpet :)

This was the outcome. Yes i know its dirty in there still lol

I was quite impressed with myself as after reading that it took a garage 2 days to remove and re-fit a new dash and being told how much of a pain in the arse it was to remove and re-fit the dash i was a bit worried on how it would come out.

I just thought ah bugger it and cracked on :)

Took me about 5-6 hours to remove and re-fit which i didnt think was bad.

Clean time.

As i had another day off today thought id give the car a clean.

And this is how the cage turned out :)

Oh and if you didnt notice i now have new seats ;)

Comments welcome please guys :D
