SaxoMuffin's Awesome Throttle Bodied 8V.....Bodies and Suspension Fitted and Collected..But There's Problem's...19/05

Howdy,

Been on here a while but thought the time has come where I think a progress thread has to be made so I can get opinions and views on the car. :y:

The Start
So, back in December '08 I bought a 51 plate Silver VTR which had 22k on the clock for £1900 which I thought was a bargain.

This is how it looked back then.(Sorry don't have many standard pics)

Chavs
After having the car for a week and a half, the below happened. I went to make a U-Turn in an industrial estate and was greeted by a group of chavs. As I was driving away after turning one of the idiots decided to throw a brick at the windscreen. Lovely:n:

Thank god for windscreen cover on the insurance, but was a mess and to the day I'm finding tiny pieces of glass everywhere....:wall:

So the first thing I did to the car was T-Cut the back badges.

Rear End
Next up was some smoked jewels and a Sax-P sticker :y:

After I was impressed with these I got hold of some smoked fronts and fogs.

Also got some medium tints which suit it well and don't look tacky like limo tints do.

Engine Sounds
Then came the exhaust I got a 3" Piper Outward rolled backbox with a supersprint race centre section.

Wheels
So then came the big purchase which was the wheels but imo the best purchase as when lowered (AWAITING COPIOUS REPLIES "NEEDS LOWERING"). They are 15" Anthracite Speedline Turini's which were bought new with Yokohoma S-Drives on them tyre's aren't the best but seeing as I mainly do motorway miles they are good as they wear slowly. :y:

Today
So gave the car a good seeing to yesterday with a clay and wax (Didn't really need a polish tbh) and came out every so shiny :P So went and took some pics today :D

Only time will tell for the rest:y:

But opinions please? (Good or bad)

Domo Arigato....(Mr Roboto)

Gracias, Yeah but the thing is the plans in my head change daily on the long drive to work thinking about it.

Forgot to mention i have a centre console waiting to be painted, I'm going to be painting it Anthracite'ish and eventually will be the same as the half cage..

Cheers, and it will be soon enough.

Do you guys think 40mm will be OK as I want it on the balance on looks and handling because I will be taking it on track in the long run...?!?
:detective:

Strikevts 23rd August 2009 19:36

35mm i would say mate

Liam-westcoast 23rd August 2009 19:36

SaxoMuffin 23rd August 2009 19:40

Would it be better to save for THESE rather than the lower spec Apex/Spax seeing as it will be on track in the long run?
