saxo keys
anyone know where i can get another spare key cut for my vtr?
how much would citroen charge, and could my local key maker thing make me one? |
Will have to be citroen to do it as it will need a transponder for the immoboliser unless you have a keypad immoboliser.
|
citroen will charge around £80 +vat
your local key cutting shop should be around £20 - £30 |
As jaytee said it has to be cut by Citroen as it needs the transponder chip unless it has a keypad immobiliser
|
ahhh thats an effort , i only have the one key but guess i'll just deal with it

what a load of rubbish some people talk yo can get your key cut at any decent locksmith who will have a unit for reading the transponder code you DO NOT need to go to citroen
|
my saxo has the keypad immobiliser... so will i be able to go to any old key cutter and get a replacement? It doesnt need any special electric bollocks put in it?
|
If you do not have the official car manual that came with your car with your car keys immobiliser code you will need the key to be sorted at Citroen I was told... that would cost £150 (if they have to find the immobiliser code) However if you have the code it will cost £100.
Again another rip-off via citroen. |
if you have a keypad you can cut your key anywhere as it dont have the chip. If you have the chipped key anywhere that has a key programmer can do it ie wilco..... they cut ur key then put it in a little device that reads the code then put the cut one in and it writes the code into the chip job done. £25.

Trust me you do not need to go to citroen i had mine cut by wilco, its not got the citroen badge in but id rather have £50 odd in my pocket and have a key with no markings as it does the same thing.
