Side strip glue...

So,i took the sidestrips off my car today(MK3 polo Saloon) and there's a fair amount of the glue left, now i did the whole hot water/heairdryer thing..it helped..but not much.

Been told not to use WD40 as its a penetrative and will slowly strip le paint....no what the hell can i use that WONT strip the paint?

the 5l tin is only about £20 from AS

M1VT 1st November 2009 00:33

for now i'll keep trying with old UCAS card+hot water

Liam_ 1st November 2009 00:34

its a penetrative oil,so if a lot is used in a small area,it will eventually get into the paint its self and start to shift it

i may just try a few claybars + detailing spray

worked on tint glue

saxolenny 1st November 2009 01:43

bug and tar remover old bank/credit card or plastic scraper

spray it on get a semi-thin cloth wrap the card/scrapper in the cloth so you dont scratch the paint work spray on the bug and tar remover and scrape it till it comes off

saxolenny 1st November 2009 01:44

or try petrol instead of bug n tar remover
