VTS Conversion

Well i've already got a furio but im getting a bit bored, and as im starting a new job where my car is important im thinking about converting a furio into a VTS.

This is the complicated bit:

1. I want a black furio
2. want to keep my car till i've finished so i can still travel
3. not very mechanically minded ( but willing to learn), luckily got a mechanic mate :y:

Im planning on buying a cheap black furio (with/without engine) in good condition.
Then buying a VTS engine, gearbox, wiring loom and unrestricted ecu.
Im then going to put some angel lights on front and back, Team Dynamics 1.2's either black (with red strip) or Wicked red (with black strip);) .
Then i want to spray the splitters wicked red.

Interior:
Strip out the interior except the dashboard.
Bolt in 2 sparco bucket seats, and sound proof black carpet the rest of the car.
Not sure about a roll cage yet, but if one comes up cheap who knows:p .

Induction:
Hopefully get a 3" Janspeed exhaust with either racing cat ot just de-cat it.
Then get a racing manifold.
Swap the airbox for a high quality airfilter and maybe another cool air intake.

ECU:
Thinking about then remapping the ECU, which i can get done locally for £249?

After all this i will then sell my original furio and claw back a little bit of money spent:fcuk:

Have you got any suggestions or any improvements i could do?

Thanks:clapping:

Sorry im new to this kinda thing

Proffitt 17th November 2009 15:19

No problem, it will get moved shortly by on of the mods.

It would be a lot cheaper just to buy a VTS and then mod it. Engine conversion can cost a lot...i know, i converted my old vtr to a vts.

Moved it here for you mate, you should get some good advice here with regards to the VTS Conversion.

Its worth having a search as well mate as this is something covered quite frequently.

Brilliant, cheers matey.

Still wondering about the vts conversion. Might just get a black furio and do that up first.

DusheR 18th November 2009 16:41

Hunt for a furio already converted? Whats your budget?

diff 19th November 2009 13:24

Well i've already got a posi blue furio, and thinking about converting that as i enjoy a challenge ha. Just wondering what would look better posi blue or black?

It would be easier to just convert my furio, but i want a project.

diff 19th November 2009 13:45

ok, well since that last post i've had an idea.

I was thinking about just getting a black furio modding it up, but leave it as a 1.4 for a little bit then when the time is right pop a vts engine in there :D

But what do you guys think......

POSI BLUE or BLACK?

undefined 19th November 2009 13:53

just buy a black vts, cams, induction, manifold and a remap and you will never look back and think dam wish i had spent weeks messing about with a furio.. when i could have just done this.

plus you get a rear beam already fitted and not the worry of if you crash and just so happen to kill someone that you not insured.... no brainer if you ask me.

Anyone can just buy a vts.
It just makes it a hell of a lot better when you convert your own car :)
Its all about the love ;)

When i converted my vtr everyone was like...why didnt you just buy a vts?
And the answer is....because its just not the same.

LeeM 20th November 2009 18:01

if you already own the car though and do all the work yourself thats fair enough, but hes buying a car and getting someone else to do the work.
my mates said it would be cheaper and easier to sell up and buy a vts, but the main conversion only cost me around £100 after selling some bits i got with the new engine and some bits that came off the original car

diff 22nd November 2009 11:31

Your right there tom, its all about the love. Anyone can just buy a new car, but when you convert one the car is special to you.

LeeM- Im not getting someone to do the work, im getting a mechanic to 'help' me. So i can learn on the job.
