Got one, superb device and a great business tool. Wouldn't have one as a personal phone really though, not much point

BBPIN is just like blackberry instant messenger, so yeah free messaging with other blackberry users. I think in the latest update they've added this gimmicky barcode thing whereby you take a picture of someones BB barcode and it adds them as a friend, rather than typing in their BB pin. Pointless though imo.

Called crackberrys aren't they, because of the compulsive email/facebook checking that you can do (because its there), if you have one.. I'd love one for those reasons though =D.

MJ05LLY 11th January 2010 19:19

Agreed with J222JRA BB Pin is a very hand tool if you have many friends or work relations with it too.
I am constantly tapping away on mine sending files some work some personal.

I have both an iphone and bb, i like my bb but prefer the iphone for apps. But still wouldnt give up my blackberry for a long time

I get 1400 mins, ulimited texts, free net (bb bundle) for £30 a month. Happy days. Hope you enjoy it pal.

Maybe when enough people have one, someone can create a saxp group on the messenger, with any deals, sneeky finds and general chitter chatter

Was referring to the barcode thingy! Not the messenger, that's good.

sax-p general chat via BB pin...
nice!

this map app thats on it, not too bad! took a few moments to load, but got it spot on to where i was! was impressed!

from the general playing around, i think i will enjoy it!

What contract is that on?

Instant messenger is a cool feature on BB but iPhone also had a free ping facility

What made you choose that over an iPhone?

J222JRA 11th January 2010 19:27

They are an awesome phone buddy and in the last 12 months Blackberrys have become veryyyyyy popular.

Edit...Blackberrys also have the ping facility

Tontsy 11th January 2010 19:36

what is ping?

im on Vodaphoneeee

the iphone, i had a samgsung tocco, and wasnt THAT impressed with the touchscreen tech going on!
but i only wanted the iphone for apps... not for a phone! buy the time i played ith both and got down to treating it like a phone rather than a toy, the BB was much more superior imo!

J222JRA 11th January 2010 19:39

A Ping is simply a tone sent to a persons BB to give them a nudge lol Like on MSN.

You can set how the phone pings......tone, tone + Vibrate or silent.

One thing that does annoy me about my bb is that when i recieve a call it will vibrate then ring.... why not just have it do this at the same time???
I found an app that does it but still i shouldnt have to spend £5 just for a normal function!
Am i tight or what haha
