Supercharged Ignis Sport. *Dyno results.*

Somebody asked if I had a progress thread, the answer was no, so I thought I'd put one up, sorry it's not a Saxo.
I got this car back in February of 2008, here it is standard after a good clean not long after i got it:

When looking at reviews, after getting the car (no logic there), i found that my car had been used in the reviews, look at the reg plates:
http://www.carenthusiast.co.uk/revie...t/article.html
It was also used in a 4car review but that site has closed.
Basically this means my car was thrashed by some journalists/reviewers, lol.

Favourite quote from the carenthusiast.com review: "It is also worth noting that the chassis is stiffer than a pervert in a branch of Ann Summers."

I didn't really plan to modify it but the bug hit me.

First mod was a K&N filter:

That then got changed for a SuzukiSport carbon duct and filter that i got for £190 second hand, bargain considering it's over £500 new, and also fitted a carbon plug cover:

Then fitted my OMP strut brace that i also got mega cheap second hand:

Won some Enkei wheels on Ebay for a bargain price of £150 and bought some second hand D2 coilovers for £250:

It's only been dropped 20mm or so, plan to drop it a bit more soon.

Next was a mesh grill i got for £35 on Ebay, it was in perfect condition, would be £200 brand new.

I sprayed the silver mesh black:

New addition to my interior, got it from Ebay for just over £5 delivered from Hong Kong:

Then came a Monster Sport carbon fibre bonnet, got it for £600, never used, just under £1000 new, uber light and a good fit:

Purchased a SuzukiSport SP-X exhaust on Ebay for £235 second hand and shipped from Singapore, over £440 brand new:

Cleaned it up:

Also have blue wheel nuts on, and a two tone horn to replace the girly standard one, no pics of those though.

Waiting in my shed to be fitted:
  • Lightweight crank pulley,
  • Front and rear Whiteline anti roll bars,
  • Summit mid roll bar,
  • Rotrex supercharger and intercooler,
  • Blue silicone coolant hoses,
  • New fog lamp to replace chipped one on passenger side.

That's it so far.

Nice car, something different. I like all the works stuff you can get from suzuki. The monster bonnet isn't cheap, but it is made by monster so i'll let you off.

Caino 5th May 2010 11:39

i like it tbh !
whats the performance figures, etc. on these ?
new car is on the cards so could be an option (:

samueljonburgess 5th May 2010 11:40

to get the drive by shot did you just hide the camera in a bunch of leaves? haha

Dan-Subtle 5th May 2010 11:40

Got to say its not normally a car i would look at twice BUT yours is an exception (sp), the changes you have made make a lot of difference.

Bet its a nice car to drive.

Parkers puts it at;

Engine Size 1490 cc
Cylinders 4
0-60 mph -
Power Output 107 bhp
Valves 16
Torque 140 Nm 103 lb-ft
Top Speed 115 mph

Weight 945 kg

Insurance Group 9

So on par with a VTR, 100 less CC's, weighs about what, 50-100kg more? But has 16 valves to make up, near as makes no difference top speed.

Thanks. I'm getting quotes to fit the Rotrex, not sure when it will go on though, just need to find time when i don't need the car for a few days.
It is nice to drive.

It is different, exactly why i chose it.
It's VTR speeds, and very good handling despite the tall looks, it's more about the handling with these cars than outright power, the reason they were made is due to regulations when they were being used for the JWRC, i think a certain amount had to be made.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

Hazmanscoop 6th May 2010 11:26
