MLM - Saxo Vtr MK1 Progress.

Well, im new to this so here i go...

bought the car for £850 2 weeks ago. Came lowered 60mm (i think) and with 80mm lowering spring in the boot, a priv plate, 72k and 12months MOT so bargain i thought?

Heres how it looked when i bought her. It had some saxo stickers n stuff on it so i took those off n got some snaps.

whitevanmen 26th May 2010 21:59

you got yaself a bargain there m8,any plans?

MLM 26th May 2010 22:56

got myself a list of things to do on the beast, which are:

*Colour code the door trims
*Decat and removed middle box with a straight pipe as the baffles gone and starting to rattle so its annoying me! ha.
*Respray alloys (possibly in black) as the are starting to show bubbling.
*Sort out the interior as guy before me sprayed the vents silver and the golve box silver too -.-
* Red hammerite on the calipers
* Fit new CD player

Anyway got a day off today so started on the car. So went to halfords and got some blue for the door trims, laquer, primer and some gloss black for the wheels which il eventually do.

I decided to do the door trims first as i think it would transform the car. Also managed to get the exhaust done, which now sounds the bollox!.

Didnt have my camera on me while to prep'd the paintwork for re-spray but heres some pics of the finished paintwork, which i thought turned out well for aerosol can paint!

The cat and midbox were next on the list. So got the car up on the ramps n cut out the cat/midbox section. And clamped in a new straight bit of exhaust pipe, which sounds alot nicer, doesnt even blow at all which i was chuffed with lol. Sorry about the dodgy pics here, was rushing to take pics with me phone.

n thats my work so far! didnt get a pic of the pipe installed as my boss needed the ramps but il try and get a pic soon.

So first of all i got the front of the car up on axle stands and wire brushed the calipers to removed any shit!

Then got the Kurust out to prevent any rust under the paint

How it looks when i put the kurust on

Once the kurust had set

After 2 coats of hammerite, Could do with 1 maybe 2 more but it started to rain :(

How they look with the wheels on.

Bound 28th May 2010 19:27

well today i had a day off so thought id go for the alloys respray. Originallyy id planned on going for white rims but then noticed alot of people did white rims. My dad then convinced me to go for an anthracite colour lol.

Got some Primer, 3x Peugeot graphite metallic grey and my dad got some 2-pack laquer he used with the air gun. Anyway heres how they turned out..

Primer..

Without Laquer...

With Laquer and on the car..
