Lower gearbox mount

Just replaced the lower gear mount in the saxo to a solid ally one, only prob is there's too much virbration can any one recommend me one that's like the standard one but better, i don't drive hard or track at all

Bump xx

I had the same problem when i changed mine, i just learned to live with it. Not sure on this but maybe a power flex one will be less harsh, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure someone who has had experience with one will be along to help.

get the group n upper gearbox mount seems to cancel most the vibration out somehow.

I remember when i got mine and everyone was telling me it would make vibrations worse.
Opinions soon changed once they were in my car :P

I personally like the vibrations, makes the car feel solid and doesnt "flop" on gear changes.

Group N gearbox mounts are one of the best modifications going imo.

I'm using a standard upper gearbox mount, so by using a group n upper mount this will help reduce some the vibrations but still help reduce the flop?

Alright bud cheers for your help on this one, hope it sorts it for me. Dont get me wrong i love how stiff it is but alot my passengers feel theirs something wrong with my car when they get in lol. Guess they are just too use to comfort.

Ive been looking at the ones on bakerbm as i purchased my silicone engine hose kit from them a while back and the quality was great, i think they give a 10% off to rallye register members too so its worth i try i think :-)

JoeExpose 14th June 2010 15:50

Think I'll go for the group n one, least that's got rubber it it so it's gotta do something lol, btw can you buy the orginal ones anywhere?

Yeah i got one too, got to agree with Steve they get rid of the vibrations.
I told Chris at Manic Motors this and he couldn't believe it either.

Seems weird how they both cancel each other out.

I only payed £18 for mine, mine is a BBM Grp N, there are Pugsport ones too.

So you guys used group n lower engine mount and group n upper gearbox mount?

SaxSpeed 19th December 2010 00:40

group n are the best, if u cant get them get a powerflex one, £30 for loer gearbox mount bush

Psycho18 19th December 2010 09:37

yes, but was that the combo they used? As a lower gearbox mount doesn't exist, does it?
