PAS stays on for 10 seconds then turns off
 

We've rewired the car and all is well, however the PAS only stays on for 10 seconds after turning the key. Exactly 10 seconds later it switches off.

We've checked the relay and that's been changed and there's no electricity going to the pump after 10 seconds.

Anyone got the foggiest of ideas????

sounds like you've wired it up to that Exhaust Gas motor thingy - that's the only device I can think of that in on for a limited period at start up.

Always 10 seconds? Never sometimes longer or shorter depending on engine rpm (basically the exhaust air motor thingy should stop if the engine goes above 3k rpm or something - my memory is sketchy of it though).

and it's probably not even that.

The plugs look different, though I may be wrong. Good shout Sayer
